Upper Limb Orthotics
In this subject you will gain specialised knowledge of specific areas of assessment, prescription, measurement, casting, fabrication, fitting and evaluation of upper limb orthoses. Through a series of lectures, practical sessions and a project you will develop an understanding of upper limb orthotic management, including applied anatomy, pathomechanics and an introduction to a range of upper limb specific pathologies. You will demonstrate your understanding of the theory of upper limb orthotic management by providing practical experience in the application of orthoses for the upper limb. Your learning in this subject is assessed through combined written and practical assignment.
