Tutorial 2: Wiki editing
This is the second tutorial for the motivation and emotion unit of study.

  1. practices basic wiki editing skills by creating a user page
  2. demonstrates how to make and record social contributions
  3. discusses the topic development marking criteria

Social contribution

  • What are social contributions?
  • Why social contributions?
    • Reward student engagement
    • Encourage and support peer feedback
    • Enhance communication skills
    • Improve quality of work
  • There are 3 types of social contributions:
    • Direct editing of (past or present) book chapters
    • Commenting on (past or present) book chapters
    • Discussion via UCLearn discussion forum posts
  • How to make and record social contributions:
    • On your Wikiversity user page, create a section called “Social contributions”.
    • In this section, describe each contribution with links to evidence.
    • Use a numbered list.
  • Search for chapters to improve
