Heading casing

[edit source]
Hi Spring Pavlova. FYI, the recommended Wikiversity heading style uses sentence casing. For example:

Self-determination theory rather than Self-Determination Theory

Here's an example chapter with correct heading casing: Growth mindset development

Topic development feedback

[edit source]

The topic development submission has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is below, plus see the general feedback page. Please also check the page history for changes made whilst reviewing the chapter plan. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Marks are available via UCLearn. Marks are based on the latest version before the due date.

  1. The title and sub-title are correctly worded and formatted
  1. Basic, 1-level heading structure – could benefit from further development, perhaps using a 2-level structure
  2. Only some of the headings seem to be directly about the topic (e.g., confidence isn't obviously relevant to the topic)
  3. Adopt closer alignment between sub-title, focus questions, and top-level headings
  1. The Overview is promising but too long and lacks sufficient focus
  2. Move the scenario or case study to the start of this section to help catch reader interest
  3. The description is too basic in that it describes each concept separately rather than their relationship
  4. Use bullet-points or a numbered list for the focus questions
  5. Put the focus questions in a feature box
  6. The focus questions lack sufficient focus
  7. Closer alignment between the sub-title, focus questions, and top-level headings is recommended
  1. Partial development of some partially relevant key points for some sections, with some relevant citations
  2. Overall, lack of sufficient developed of well-targetted content that represents the best psychological science about this topic
  3. Avoid providing too much background information. Aim to briefly summarise general concepts and provide internal links to relevant book chapters and/or Wikipedia pages for further information. Then focus most of the content on directly answering the core question(s) posed by the chapter sub-title.
  4. I recommend using the Studiosity service and/or a service like Grammarly to help improve the quality of written expression such as checking grammatical and spelling errors
  5. Strive for an integrated balance of the best psychological theory and research about this topic, with practical examples
  6. It is unclear whether the best available psychological theory and research has been consulted in the preparation of this plan
  7. Conclusion is underway
  1. One or more relevant figure(s) is/are presented and captioned
  2. The figure caption(s) provide(s) a clear, appropriately detailed description that is meaningfully connected with the main text
  3. Cite each figure at least once in the main text using APA style (e.g., see Figure 1)
  1. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles and/or to other relevant book chapters (see Tutorial 2)
  2. Promising use of one or more scenarios/examples/case studies
  3. Promising use of quiz question(s)
  4. Focus the quiz question(s) on the take-home messages for each focus question
  5. Promising use of one or more table(s)
  6. Cite the table at least once in the text
  7. Consider including more examples/case studies, quiz question(s), table(s) etc.
  1. Good
  2. It seems like maybe this topic development has focused on attribution theory in general rather than the relationship between attributions and emotion
  3. Are there any systematic reviews about this topic?
  4. Check and correct APA referencing style:
    1. capitalisation
    2. italicisation
    3. doi formatting
  1. See also
    1. OK
    2. Identify more relevant links
    3. Use sentence casing
  2. External links
    1. Insufficient
    2. Move academic sources into references and cite in the chapter
    3. Include source in brackets after the link
  1. Very good
  2. Very brief description about self – consider expanding
  3. Link(s) provided to professional profile(s)
  4. A link to the book chapter is provided
  1. This edit fixed a grammar issue but added a spelling error]
  2. Thanks for posting about the accidental edit and getting it sorted
  3. Use a numbered list (see Tutorial 02)
