Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Feedback:

Hi, I thought I might be able to help you with a few things on your book chapter page. I have provided a link to an image which might fit in well with your section on toxic online disinhibition. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cybercrime_-_keyboard_and_handcuffs.jpg If you have a look on the discussion page, there is an explanation on how to insert a hanging indent for the reference list. This might help you as it helped me. Here is the link to the discussion page. Down below are the steps on how to insert the code if this helps as well. 1. Click edit source 2. Above your first reference paste the first half of the hanging indent code. 3. Below your last reference paste the second part of the code (}}) 4. click publish changes. Your topic seems really interesting, I look forward to seeing your page develop! Thanks, --U3154928 (discusscontribs) 03:08, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, your chapter sounds like it will be super interesting to read when its completed! I found this article in my searching that might be of interest to you, it's on cyberbullying and online disinhibition https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/95561439.pdf. My book chapter is on Sexting Motivation, if you wanted to have a look, I think our chapters complement each other nicely! Good luck with the assignment! --Brittany (u3117719) (discusscontribs) 02:23, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Title, sub-title, TOC[edit source]

  1. OK; minor fixes

User page[edit source]

  1. Not created

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. None summarised on user page
  2. There appears to be a social contribution listed on the chapter page - move this to the user page
  3. Link doesn't go directly to evidence of contribution (it should be easy to see the changes you made at first glance, without any searching)

Section headings[edit source]

  1. Basic, logical, 2-level structure proposed
  2. Consider 2nd-level headings for the second question
  3. Remove/replace template content

Key points[edit source]

  1. Some limited development of key points
  2. Most points lack citation
  3. Overview - limited development (important section). Consider including one or more case studies or examples

Title and sub-title[edit source]

  1. Excellent
  2. Capitalisation of the title/sub-title has been corrected to be consistent with the book table of contents
  3. Authorship details removed - authorship is as per the page's editing history
  4. A section should contain either 0 or 2+ sub-sections - avoid having sections which contain 1 sub-section.

User page[edit source]

  1. Not created

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. None summarised with links to evidence

Section headings[edit source]

  1. See previous comments about heading capitalisation
  2. Part developed 2-level heading structure - avoid sections with only one sub-section

Key points[edit source]

  1. Some useful initial ideas, but seems to be an incomplete plan
  2. User bullet-points and numbered lists (per Tutorial 1)
  3. Content planning seems to be brief or incomplete in many sections
  4. Selected theoretical frameworks are rather broad/general - based on more indepth reading, consider using more specific theories
  5. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles.
  6. Consider including more examples/case studies.
  7. Consider embedding one quiz question per major section.

Image[edit source]

  1. Provided, with an APA style caption
  2. Make sure caption connects to key points being made in the text
  3. Cite each figure at least once in the main text

References[edit source]

  1. Good.
  2. For full APA style:
    1. Use correct capitalisation
    2. Use correct italicisation
    3. Use the new recommended format for dois - http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2014/07/how-to-use-the-new-doi-format-in-apa-style.html
    4. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within a volume

Resources[edit source]

  1. Excellent

Chapter review and feedback[edit source]

This chapter has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Chapter marks will be available later via UCLearn Canvas, along with social contribution marks and feedback. Keep an eye on Announcements.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is an excellent chapter that successfully uses psychological theory and research to help address a practical, real-world phenomenon or problem.
  2. The Overview could be abbreviated (e.g., move the Australian material into a case study and replace with briefer international statistics).
  3. The Overview seems to unnecessarily narrow in on cyberbullying as an example of ODE, but it should not be the only example. Also consider, for example, sexting.
  4. Overall, excellent balance is evident, highlighting benefits and problems associated with the ODE.
  5. More examples, such as case studies, could help to bring the chapter to life.
  6. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.

Theory[edit source]

  1. Theory is well covered, although I suspect there are some more relevant social psychological theories (e.g., uses and gratification theory?) than some of the general motivational theory that was employed.
  2. Did you consult Maslow (1943, 1954, 1962)? If not, these should be secondary citations.
  3. A critical perspective is evidence (good).

Research[edit source]

  1. Relevant research is well reviewed and discussed in relation to theory.
  2. When describing important research findings, consider including a bit more detail about the methodology and indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  3. Greater emphasis on major reviews and/or meta-analyses would be helpful.
  4. Some statements are unreferenced (e.g., see the [factual?] tags).

Written expression[edit source]

  1. Written expression
    1. Internationalise: Write for an international, not just a domestic audience. Australians make up only 0.32% of the world human population. Australia could be used as a case study
  2. Layout
    1. For numbered lists, use Wikiversity formatting per Tutorial 1.
    2. See earlier comments about heading casing.
    3. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
  3. Learning features
    1. Excellent use of interwiki links to Wikipedia articles.
    2. No use of embedded links to related book chapters. Embedding interwiki links links to related book chapters helps to integrate this chapter into the broader book project.
    3. Good use of images.
    4. No use of tables.
    5. Basic use of feature boxes.
    6. Basic use of quizzes.
    7. The quiz questions could be more effective as learning prompts by being embedded as single questions within each corresponding section rather than being presented as a set of questions at the end.
  4. Grammar
    1. Check and correct use of ownership apostrophes (e.g., individuals vs. individual's vs individuals').
  5. APA style
    1. Refer to each Table and Figure at least once within the main text (e.g., see Figure 1).
    2. Provide more detailed Figure captions to help connect the figure to the text.
    3. Citations are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. Use ampersand (&) inside brackets and "and" outside brackets.
    4. References are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. Check and correct use of capitalisation.
      2. Check and correct use of italicisation.
      3. See new doi format.

Social contribution[edit source]

If you would like further clarification about the marking or feedback, contact the unit convener.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is a reasonably good presentation.

Structure and content[edit source]

  1. Reasonably well selected content - theory heavy; also consider research findings.
  2. As with the book chapter feedback, several general theories are applied, but also using some more customised theoretical frameworks may add to a better understanding of the topic.
  3. Add and narrate an Overview slide, to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.
  4. Implications are excellent.
  5. The presentation could be strengthened by adding a Conclusion slide which summarises practical, take-home messages.

Communication[edit source]

  1. The presentation is easy to follow.
  2. The presentation makes effective use of text and image based slides with narrated audio.
  3. Well paced.
  4. The font size is mostly sufficiently large to make it easy to read.
  5. The visual communication is effectively supplemented by images.

Production quality[edit source]

  1. The chapter title but not the sub-title are used in the video title - the latter would help to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  2. The chapter title and sub-title are used on the opening slide - this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  3. Audio recording quality was very good.
  4. Video recording quality was Excellent.
  5. Image sources are provided.
  6. A copyright license for the presentation is provided in the video description but not in the meta-data.
  7. A link to the book chapter is provided.
