Global Rename
[edit source]Welcome back! I'm not sure I understand your post at [1]. Your account is already JonAwbrey. It appears to be linked to your previous Wikiversity account, as the contributions from this account show edits back to 2008. If you'd like to change this name, see meta:Changing username. -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 15:18, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. The only problem now is that my original account still exists under the new name User:Jon_Awbrey~enwikiversity. What happened is that, back in the day, some of the other language wikis did not allow spaces in user names, so I used the CamelCase version JonAwbrey on those, then redirected that alternate name as necessary to my usual name (with the space) on the other projects. If it's possible at all now, it would probably be a lot simpler just to go back to the plain Jon Awbrey user name, without the suffixes and with the space. - That account still exists if you have access to it. See Special:CentralAuth/Jon_Awbrey. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do locally. All usernames are handled by Meta now. You can use Special:GlobalRenameRequest to request a rename, but I'm not sure how a rename would help in this situation. I'd check with Meta first and see if there are any options that would be an improvement from your perspective. -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 21:30, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. JonAwbrey (discuss • contribs) 14:01, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
File Licensing
[edit source]Hi! I noticed you've recently uploaded a number of images of your own creation tagged as Fair Use. Fair Use only applies to content created by someone else, meaning that it would be fair for you to use their content in an educational setting. Which of the available licenses (from Wikiversity:License tags) would you like to use for this content? If you want the same license as your written content, the {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}} license might be the most appropriate. -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 15:53, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, I did not know that. I will use the {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}} license. JonAwbrey (discuss • contribs) 16:03, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
Minimal negation operator
[edit source]Hi JonAwbrey!
Your logic resource Minimal negation operator appears to be well-developed and ready for learners! Would you like to have it announced on our Main Page News? --Marshallsumter (discuss • contribs) 16:06, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, Marshall. Sure, that would be fine with me. JonAwbrey (discuss • contribs) 19:00, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi again. On second thought, hold off a while. I see there are a few formatting problems I need to fix. JonAwbrey (discuss • contribs) 15:36, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
- I will remove the announcement as you wish! Of course the announcement does not require that your resource be perfect. And, you are always free to improve it after announcement. --Marshallsumter (discuss • contribs) 17:13, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
- No biggie, just minor issues with variant implementations of LaTeX or whatever you use here. Will fix next chance I get. JonAwbrey (discuss • contribs) 16:30, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
Boolean domain
[edit source]Hi JonAwbrey!
Your mathematics resource Boolean domain appears well-developed and ready for learners! Would you like to have it announced on our Main Page News? --Marshallsumter (discuss • contribs) 17:44, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Sure, if you wish. There's not much there but I suppose it can serve as an entry point to the larger logical syllabus. JonAwbrey (discuss • contribs) 03:14, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
