Technical question about responding to the reviewers

[edit source]

I noticed my paper received a review at Talk:WikiJournal Preprints/Where experts and amateurs meet: the ideological hobby of medical volunteering on Wikipedia (and I'd iike to suggest notifying authors, like myself, of this, through the wiki echo/ping system). I'd also like to ask how can I reply to the reviewer in a way that's preferred by the journal? I can of course reply to them on their wikiversity user talk page, but I am unsure if this is the preferred method. Piotrus (discusscontribs) 05:53, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi and thanks for the message - I'll mention the 'wiki echo/ping system' to our technical helpers (way beyond me!), otherwise, we depend on handling editors to check and advise authors - which I'd have done after New Year. Please reply on the review page, below the review and I'll alert the reviewer and we will keep on trying to find at least one further reviewer Rwatson1955 (discusscontribs) 07:29, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

About automatic notification

[edit source]

Hi Rogers. I saw your question about automatic notification system, I don't think it's possible at this stage. I believe these are still manual due to software limitations. You can notify someone by adding {{ping|Username}} in a comment. This will trigger the notification system when the user logs in next time. OhanaUnitedTalk page 00:40, 11 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK, thanks for looking into it. Roger Rwatson1955 (discusscontribs) 07:17, 11 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
