You have done an excellent job surveying the broad literature regarding the different theories of terrorism. However, perhaps you could also explore the role of gender in influencing extremist motivations. More specifically, what is the empirical relationship between masculine gender norms and terrorist behaviour, as men commit the vast majority of terrorist acts? It would help if you considered incorporating social scientific theories that seek to answer this question in your book chapter, along with suggestions about how to monitor and prevent violent extremism in men.
