Overall Overall, this is an excellent chapter that successfully uses psychological theory and research to help address a practical, real-world phenomenon or problem. The conceptual, analytical linking between morality and psychological needs, using both theory and research is particularly impressive. This demonstrates capacity to excel at post-graduate level. The chapter engages reader interest by introducing and example - but how does the example relate to morality as a psychological need (rather than just a philosophical problem)? Theory — Breadth Relevant theories are well selected, described, and explained. The chapter doesn't wander off into discussion of irrelevant theory. Theory — Depth Appropriate depth is provided about the selected theory(ies). Research — Key findings Relevant research is well reviewed. Research — Critical thinking Very good critical thinking about research is evident. Integration Discussion of theory and research is well integrated. Conclusion Key points are well summarised. Add practical, take-home message(s). Written expression — Style Written expression Overall, the quality of written expression is excellent. Layout The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections. Sections which branch into sub-sections should include an introductory paragraph before branching into the sub-sections. Grammar, spelling, and proofreading are excellent. Spelling Use Australian spelling (e.g., hypothesize vs. hypothesise; behavior vs. behaviour). APA style Do not capitalise the names of disorders, therapies, theories, etc.. Use double (not single) quotation marks "to introduce a word or phrase used as an ironic comment, as slang, or as an invented or coined expression; use quotation marks only for the first occurrence of the word or phrase, not for subsequent occurrences" (APA 7th ed., 2020, p. 159). Figures and tables Refer to each Table and Figure using APA style (e.g., do not use italics, check and correct capitalisation). Figures are well captioned. Citations use correct APA style. Overall Overall, this is a very good presentation. Overview An opening slide with the title and sub-title is presented and narrated - this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation. The importance of this topic is explained. Focus questions are presented. The Overview could be abbreviated (it is ~40 seconds). Content The presentation addresses the topic. An appropriate amount of content is presented - not too much or too little. The presentation is well structured. The presentation makes good use of relevant psychological theory. It would probably help to briefly explain why morality is - at least from a psychological point of view. There is too much general material about SDT. Concentrate on how/why morality might be a psychological need. The presentation makes good use of relevant psychological research. Ideally, more theoretical and research-based information about why morality is a psychological need could be presented, with examples. The presentation could be improved by making more use of examples or case studies. Conclusion A Conclusion slide is presented with excellent take-home message(s). Make more clear - how/why is morality a psychological need? Audio The audio is easy to follow. Audio communication is clear and well paced. Excellent pauses between sentences. This helps the viewer to cognitively digest the information that has just been presented before moving on to the next point. Good intonation. Audio recording quality was excellent. Video Overall, visual display quality is excellent. The presentation makes effective use of text and image based slides. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read. The visual communication is effectively supplemented by images. The presentation is well produced using simple tools. Meta-data The sub-title are used in the name of the presentation - this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation. A brief written description of the presentation is provided. Links to and from the book chapter are provided. Licensing Image sources are communicated. Ideally, provide clickable links to the original image sources (e.g., in the description).
