Note that marks are based on what was available before the due date, whereas the comments may also be based on all material available at time of providing this feedback.

Title, sub-title, TOC[edit source]

  1. Title and sub-title Not presented - I've added it

User page[edit source]

  1. Very good

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. Clear

Section headings[edit source]

  1. Consider shortening some of the long headings
  2. Consider putting less emphasis on the separate concepts of EI and LE (instead, just provide brief introductions, with links to dedicated Wikipedia and/or Wikiversity pages with more details), and more emphasis on their relationship
  3. Avoid having one subsection - either have no subsections or two or more subsections

Key points[edit source]

  1. OK, but lack of development of key points that directly address the sub-title question
  2. Key section is "Role of emotional intelligence in effective leadership" - but limited development of key points here so far
  3. Only provide wiki links for the first mention of a word/phrase; thereafter do not link the term
  4. Conclusion - expand on the take-home messages

Image[edit source]

  1. OK
  2. Provide more detailed image captions that help to connect the image to the text

References[edit source]

  1. OK
  2. Use APA style

Resources[edit source]

  1. OK
  2. See also - Use internal links e.g., Emotional intelligence (Wikipedia). Also links to related Wikiversity book chapters.
  3. External inks - Use external links

Chapter Feedback[edit source]

Hi, this is a great chapter and very well organised. The only additional suggestion I have is to include some focus questions or a quiz to engage and guide the reader. There is a lot of information in your page so a quiz would help break this up a bit and engage the reader a bit more. --Bridie Mcinerney (discusscontribs) 06:21, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Bridie, you're right - it would make the page more user friendly, thanks for the suggestion! --U3083835 (discusscontribs) 11:33, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rebecca, Great work on your chapter. As feedback, I would love to see you define "what is emotional intelligence?" and "What is leadership effectiveness?". These are two focus questions and main points but you haven't defined them for the reader, we have to make assumptions as to what they are. As a lay person, having them clearly defined will make reading the rest of the chapter easier and flow much more nicely. The reader will be able to understand how EI is connected to and influences leadership effectiveness. In addition, you could also add these a questions as a 'focus question's box. Cheers, Lucy --Lucy Hanrahan (discusscontribs) 22:06, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lucy, thank you for your suggestions --U3083835 (discusscontribs) 11:33, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I just wanted to make a suggestion for the further reading links - Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman. Not sure if you've already got there, but it's a book that I was recommended when I was working as a camp leader so thought of it when I saw your topic. Hope it's helpful! Good luck! Cheers, Dot--Foley.d (discusscontribs) 02:13, 23 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dot, thanks so much for your suggestion - you're right it's a great book! I've included it in my reference list :) --U3083835 (discusscontribs) 11:33, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rebecca, one suggestion I have is to create hyperlinks using a keyword instead of adding the web address (i did this on the external link section of your page as an example). U3037801 (discusscontribs) 01:50, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Great suggestion - thank you for making this change! --U3083835 (discusscontribs) 11:33, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rebecca,

As stated on Canvas I have some feedback on your chapter. I have modified this feedback a little to what I put on Canvas. Overall I think your page is put together very well. I had a second look at it this morning and I think it is laid out really well. Within the overview, second paragraph, the reference is placed after ‘extraverted’ when I think it is meant to be after the list of Big Five traits, if not I suggest putting a reference in for the rest. I have found a reference that touches on the Big Five in job performance. Your research is very thorough, but just incase, you could use this to cover the rest of the Big Five traits;

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1744-6570.1999.tb00174.x

You have touched briefly on the four and five component model of emotional intelligence, in a way that is easily accessible, but I felt that I wanted to know a bit more about both models and the reasons for the difference in factors. Perhaps further developing this section with a bit more info could help add some more depth to these concepts. I do like though how you have split the five-factor model out with clear definitions on each factor.

If it’s of any use, I have found a study on different factor structure in emotional intelligence tests;

Really nice work though, a pleasure to read! --U3114099 (discusscontribs) 19:51, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lexi, thank you again for your contribution and for proposing further resources - wishing you the best. --U3083835 (discusscontribs) 11:33, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

This chapter has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Chapter marks will be available later via Moodle, along with social contribution marks and feedback. Keep an eye on Announcements.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is an excellent chapter that successfully uses psychological theory to help address a practical, real-world problem.
  2. The main area for potential improvement could be greater use of research.
  3. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.

Theory[edit source]

  1. Relevant theories are particularly well selected, described, and explained, with a practical emphasis that aligns with the book theme.
  2. The chapter adopts an appropriately balanced and critical view.
  3. Perhaps consider using one or case studies to help illustrate key points.

Research[edit source]

  1. Research could be covered in more depth - for the example, the word "research" only appears once in the main body; same with "study".

Written expression[edit source]

  1. Written expression
    1. The chapter benefited from a well developed Overview and Conclusion.
    2. The chapter is clearly written.
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
  3. Learning features
    1. Interwiki links and images are reasonably well used.
    2. Excellent use of tables.
    3. Very good use of quizzes.
    4. No use of case studies.
  4. Spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
    1. Check and correct use of commas (e.g., use serial commas).
  5. APA style
    1. Use APA style for Table captions.
    2. References are not in full APA style e.g.,
      1. Check and correct capitalisation.
      2. Check and correct italicisation.
      3. Add spaces between author initials.

Multimedia feedback

The accompanying multimedia presentation has been marked according to the marking criteria. Marks are available via the unit's Canvas site. Written feedback is provided below, plus see the general feedback page. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below. If you would like further clarification about the marking or feedback, contact the unit convener.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is a basic, but sufficient presentation.
  2. Overall, this is an excellent presentation that makes effective use of simple tools.

Structure and content[edit source]

  1. Well selected and structured content - not too much or too little in terms of the book chapter coverage, however the comments about the book chapter also apply to this section (i.e,. theory coverage excellent, but research coverage poor).
  2. The presentation is well structured (Title, Overview, Body, Conclusion).

Communication[edit source]

  1. The presentation is easy to follow and listen to.
  2. The presentation makes reasonably effective use of narrated text and image based slides with narrated audio.

Production quality[edit source]

  1. Audio recording is poor - check microphone set-up (I suspect that an on-board microphone rather than a dedicated stand-alone microphone was used).
  2. Copyright is well acknowledged.
