--Gorlapraveen123 (discuss • contribs) 19:34, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Not enough expericence as an associate editor, apparently did not work on any submission, see user contributions. Sylvain Ribault (discuss • contribs) 08:42, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- Comment it does not appear that you've been active in open source. Could you elaborate on your contributions to commons, wikipedia, etc? --mikeu talk 01:37, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose No answer to the questions were provided after 5 months. I am unconvinced with publishing and open access experience. OhanaUnitedTalk page 12:45, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose for now. However, I appreciate that a large part of the reason for not having gained experience as an assoc. editor in handling an article yet has been lack of opportunity since there hasn't been a recent submission in the relevant fields. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 01:36, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Closed as decline, but with a note to prioritise as assitant for processing an article through review. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 10:25, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Associate editor application of Emanuele Natale

- Publishing - Program committee member of the 31st ACM Symposium on Parallelism in Algorithms and Architectures and of the 29th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. (Notice that, in Computer Science, publications in conference proceedings have the same importance to that of journal publications. Program committee members are assigned several submissions to review, they can assign their papers to sub-reviewers and they discuss with other program committee members the papers which should be accepted to the conference.)
- Open - Since several years, I've been making small contributions to Wikipedia and sister projects (https://tools.wmflabs.org/guc/?by=date&user=Natematic). If related to this section, I can also mention some experience in developing open source scientific software (see https://github.com/natema/kadabra).
I confirm that I will act in accordance with the policies of the WikiJournal of Science. Natematic (discuss • contribs) 17:17, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support - We have such a lack of expertise on theoretical computer science that we had to recruit a guest editor in order to deal with the submission on Binary search algorithm. The candidate is certainly very qualified academically, and has significant expericence in Wikipedia and sister projects. Sylvain Ribault (discuss • contribs) 18:46, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support. No concerns. T Cells (discuss • contribs) 12:55, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support - covers a very useful set of research fields and clear open experience - github and wikis share a lot of principles in common. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 02:15, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

Areas of expertise: computer science, digital libraries
Relevant experience:
- Professional - research, teaching, building research infrastructure, establish FAIR scholary practice
- Publishing - pc member in various conferences
- Open - long term contributor to Mediawiki
I confirm that I will act in accordance with the policies of the WikiJournal of Science. Physikerwelt (discuss • contribs) 07:44, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- Question: Given your open experience and interest in the technical aspects of Mediawiki, do you have ideas on the Wikijournals' workflow and infrastructure? Sylvain Ribault (discuss • contribs) 19:33, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- I think for publications that use software, we should establish a reproducibility guideline and implement a protocol for reproducibility of the results obtained by the software from open tests datasets inspired by https://www.springer.com/journal/12532. Other than that I was not involved in the technical details of the publication workflow, but overall it seems reasonable. For the details about mathematical formulae on Wiki and in the PDF, I can probably fix most problems;-) --17:31, 6 July 2020 (UTC)~~

- Publishing - Editorial board at Genome Biology
- Open - openfree License (BioLicense), Wikipedia
Early proponent of open access and open review journal system (since 1994). Found of BioPerl project BioPerl Wikipedia page
I have been one of the earliest proponents of completely open system of hypertext and journal publication system since early 1990s. I have created my own internet hypertext system (like wiki) and also used the very early version of Ward Curnningham's wiki through personal communication.
I think the world should use a completely transparent open submission (pre-print like) and open review system for the fairest and most efficient dissemination of science knowledge.
I am a Perl programmer and have learnt many programming languages.
I confirm that I will act in accordance with the policies of the WikiJournal of Science. Jongbhak (discuss • contribs) 02:12, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support - this seems a highly suitable candidate. Chiswick Chap (discuss • contribs) 10:43, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support - Ticks all the boxes. Obviously a highly experienced genomicist, but also publishing experience with an open access BMC journal (Genome Biol.) will be very valuable. Coding and wiki experience in multiple languages of additional benefit (I note that the Korean Genomics Center website is also a wiki). T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 11:18, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Questions - What does 'geromics' mean? Why do your articles at Google Scholar appear with the author name 'Jong Park' instead of 'Jong Bhak'? Why not mention your Wikipedia user page and personal website? Sylvain Ribault (discuss • contribs) 20:17, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- ==> I used to use Jong Park until I got married my wife (2004) who wanted to use "Bhak", as my Korean name "박" actually sounds like "Bhak". Park is a Korean name given by the government in the past when Koreans first created passports years ago.
"Geromics" is a word coined by me (a neologism). Gero + Omics. It means omics study of Gero(aging, gerontology). - I have been into omics and have been running Omics.org.
- My personal home page is JongBhak.com.
- My wikipedia personal page is: Jong_Bhak. - Jong Bhak
- ==> I used to use Jong Park until I got married my wife (2004) who wanted to use "Bhak", as my Korean name "박" actually sounds like "Bhak". Park is a Korean name given by the government in the past when Koreans first created passports years ago.
- Support - It would be hard to imagine a more suitable candidate. Sylvain Ribault (discuss • contribs) 07:44, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support Very qualified. I agree with everyone else. --Saguaromelee (discuss • contribs) 14:42, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

Editorial board application of Fernando Pinheiro Andutta
Fernando Pinheiro Andutta DSc PhD MSc BSc (website)
Areas of expertise: small scale processes in physical oceanography
Relevant experience:
- Professional - lecturing, fieldwork, research, coding, data management
- Publishing - reviewer for various journals in the field of oceanography
- Open - Founder of https://wikiletters.org
I confirm that I will act in accordance with the policies of the WikiJournal of Science. 49.182.51.145 (discuss) 23:03, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: The experience looks thin, even for associate editor. Wikiletters looks like a prototype that may or may not take off: an aspiration, not an achievement. Sylvain Ribault (discuss • contribs) 07:20, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support Welcome aboard! Having an editor with expertise in continental shelf oceanography (small scale) would be great! Have you an interest in editing and contributing to articles on Wikipedia regarding various continental shelves large and small? --Marshallsumter (discuss • contribs) 23:19, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- Comment I think more information would be useful on this. Could you summarise the aims and achievements so for of wikiletters? Your works as listed by Google Scholar look interesting. Are your teaching activities in the same topics? What languages do you code in? T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 11:30, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
