Topic: Namespace[edit source]

Hi! I noticed your recent contributions on the Yoruba culture. Wikiversity is currently trying to clean up (empty) the Topic: namespace. I've moved this content to Portal:Yoruba culture, to provide a more permanent home for these efforts. Let me know if you have any questions. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 18:58, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Thanks. No question for now. Wikicology (discusscontribs) 19:04, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi @Dave Braunschweig: I have recently learned that it is better to ask too many questions than make stupid mistakes. Can I go on with my work on the department of Yoruba culture? You can as well delegate something for me to work on. I am more than ready to learn. I don't mind being under your tutelage for some times. I will appreciate your help in any ways you can. Thank you. Yes, feel free to continue your work on the Yoruba culture. I wouldn't refer to it as a department, however. Departments that don't have a lot of users to coordinate don't make sense. You're more likely to be effective in developing a Yoruba portal for others to learn about the culture than you are getting a high number of other users to help you develop it.
You seem to have already identified an interest in Biomedical Sciences. Feel free to also continue your work there. Just be aware that the whole idea of divisions and departments is slowly being eliminated in favor of portals. There isn't anyone maintaining any departments here, and the use of the Topic: namespace has become problematic from a Mediawiki software perspective. You might take a look at Wikiversity:Topic Review for status on the Topic to Portal migration.
If you're looking for something else to do, reviewing any of the topics that have been proposed for deletion and verifying that there is nothing of value to salvage there would be very helpful. If you agree that it should be deleted, you don't have to do anything. If you think it should be salvaged somehow, you can remove the proposed deletion and tag it with {{Move}} or {{Merge}}. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 12:52, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
You beat me to this, Dave. Thanks for your help and advice. I will fix the divisions and departments in favor of portal. I will take a look at the proposed topics for deletion. Thank you so much. I am very grateful. Warm regards. Wikicology (discusscontribs) 13:14, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
