Talk:Tibetan language/Developmental initiatives
Add topicSome ideas
[edit source]I'm trying to take all of this in. B9_hummingbird_hovering has cranked out a ton of good material but finding and organizing it is a chore. Tibetan Language/Creating a weblog on Wikiversity is about a weblog and developing a learning community, which is great but...
I've got a couple of ideas that relate to Wikiversity:Naming conventions that might help the Topic:Tibetan fit into Topic:Linguistics and School:Language and Literature and perhaps School:Theology. First of all, I've noticed that a lot of the current pages and content are about developing the materials, community building and editing skills not part of the actual course. I suggest merging or moving these type pages to Wikiversity namespace if they are generally applicable across multiple topics.
Topic:Tibetan is a little dense and may need to have some subpages with simple names, for example: Tibetan Language/Developmental initiatives can move to Topic:Tibetan/Initiatives. The Topic namespace is similar to the Wikipedia:WikiProject sub namespace at Wikipedia for developing all articles related to a central subject, genre or other grouping.
Another thing I've seen stated is the need for a Topic:Tibetan/Lexicon. (Compare to New Testament Greek/Lexicon) The multilingual worksheet is an example of an attempt to brainstorm the creation of an OmegaWiki type project. The Jade Knight and I made a bit of progress but we needed more interest and involvement from other language people. Topic:Sanskrit would be a good sisterproject. Intrestingly, the more ancient a language is, the more it ties in with School:Theology. (Notice Introduction to Sanskrit Language and Introductory Ancient Greek Language).
Now. What should appear in Wikiversity's main namespace for all the world to see (not just members of the Tibetan language content development project group). Here's a list of starting page titles and redirects to create:
- Tibetan
- Tibetan language
- Introductory Tibetan
- Introductory Tibetan Language
- Introduction to Tibetan Language
- Tibetan Language/Introduction
- ...
