Talk:Motivation and emotion/Book/2020/Positive emotion
Add topicCultural impact, quote and enhancement
[edit source]This is looking really good, just a few things i have noticed. Number 1 the direct quotes that you have used havent got page numbers which is needed for APA referencing. Within the enhancement section it could be helpful to provide links to websites for the various strategies. Finally within the effects section adding some information about the impact of culture could be beneficial. I found this article which could help https://psycnet.apa.org/record/2008-08084-005. --U3187381 (discuss • contribs) 01:12, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
What are the physiological experiences of positive emotions?
[edit source]Could be interesting to look at what happens to us physiologically when we experience some of these positive emotions. --Jackson McNee (discuss • contribs) 04:55, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Feedback
[edit source]Hey! I found this link on 'Adolescents’ happiness-increasing strategies, temperament, and character: Mediation models on subjective well-being'. I thought it might be helpful in adding another dimension to your last heading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)
Hello! Great stuff so far, it was a fun read. I was thinking it would be nice to add a section about the physiological responses/neural connections associated with positive emotions. It would definitely add more depth to your points. I believe I read a touch about dopamine levels and brain structures related to positive emotions on this article about the broaden-and-build theory - which you have also introduced in this book chapter. Perhaps you could check it out to see if it's anything you'd like to include in your book chapter :) Comment by U3189154
Book chapter focus question
- Consider adapting focus question to a singular question
- Can include subquestions in addition to the focus question

Links to further research
[edit source]Hey, Had a look into some articles which may be useful for your chapter. This one 'Positive emotions broaden the scope of attention and thought-action repertoires' has some great information on the Broaden and Build theory that you already mentioned, as well as looking at some effects that positive emotions can have. Also, 'Positive emotions trigger upward spiral towards emotional wellbeing' which I found really interesting to red and had some great relevant information for you! An additional note: I think you could utilise a case study under the heading 'How can we enhance positive emotion' and use a fictional story type scenario to describe the process of one of the mentioned ways.
