Social contribution[edit source]

Hey! Your book chapter is really good! I find this topic really interesting and important. I think you have done your research and your written expression is quite good. BUT I would love to see more external links relating to Body image flexibility. I found this video on YouTube which is very relevant to your topic (although its long haha) but I think it would be a nice touch to add in :) this is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKjWRSuHvTE. have a good day :))) Feel free to also read my book chapter and add any comments, concerns, improvements etc.- https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Motivation_and_emotion/Book/2020/Nature_deficit_disorder

Social contribution[edit source]

Hi, my book chapter topic is on intuitive eating, a 'non-diet' approach to eating which has been used as an intervention method in the treatment of disordered eating by helping patients to build body image flexibility along with other methods. I have added your book chapter as a link to mine as I believe they compliment each other and could provide readers with more information around disordered eating, body image flexibility and available interventions/ways of thinking. I think your chapter could benefit from linking intuitive eating as well. There is also a book chapter for 2020 called 'mindful eating', which follows similar principles to intuitive eating and also used as an intervention in disordered eating. I noticed you already have a heading about disordered eating so I thought including mindful eating and intuitive eating in this section could be useful. I found this article useful in my research and I thought you might too, the link is here: https://search-proquest-com.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/docview/2408450210?rfr_id=info%3Axri%2Fsid%3Aprimo the article is called 'Contributions of mindful eating, intuitive eating, and restraint to BMI, disordered eating, and meal consumption in college students'. Here is a link to intuitive eating if you would like to read more: https://www.intuitiveeating.org/10-principles-of-intuitive-eating/ . One of the principles is about learning to respect and accept your body no matter what size or shape it is, I think this links well to body image flexibility. I look forward to reading your chapter and I hope this information is useful. --BirdU3171984 (discusscontribs) 22:19, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
