Hi,

I found this cool resources that might help develop your applications of goal framing theory section.

Financial Behavior Change and Progress Toward Self-Sufficiency: A Goal-Framing Theory Application (https://doi.org/10.1177%2F2167696819861467)

I think this one is particuarly useful in that it's cohort was emerging adults, allowing it to be applied to in particular students who may read this.

Hope it's helpful --Joshgrain (discusscontribs) 12:18, 21 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I like the use of your headings. You may consider putting more external links in at the bottom so users can further elaborate on the theories. That way you will save words in your word count and help users follow your work. --BMPENFOLD (discusscontribs) 02:43, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

This looks like a really great topic development. I hope your study is going well offline. Depending on where you are at in your research I would like to suggest an article I found on a goal framing approach in a hedonistic shift. All the best for you book chapter.

Overall

[edit source]
  1. Overall, this is a promising chapter that does a reasonably good job of reviewing relevant theory and research and provides some practical examples. The quality of written expression is below professional standard.
  2. This chapter is well under the maximum word count.
  3. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.
  1. Relevant theories are well selected, described, and explained.
  2. To improve, provide more detail about GFT and less about the other theories.
  1. Relevant research is reviewed and discussed in relation to theory.
  2. When describing important research findings, consider including a bit more detail about the methodology and indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  3. Greater emphasis on major reviews and/or meta-analyses would be helpful.
  1. Written expression
    1. The quality of written expression is below professional standard.
    2. Use third person perspective rather than first person (e.g., "we") or second person (e.g., "you") perspective. Rewrite the chapter without using "we".
    3. Avoid directional referencing (e.g., "As previously mentioned").
    4. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
    2. Avoid having sections with only one sub-section.
  3. Learning features
    1. Use in-text interwiki links, rather than external links.
    2. No use of embedded links to related book chapters. Embedding interwiki links links to related book chapters helps to integrate this chapter into the broader book project.
    3. Basic use of images.
    4. No use of tables.
    5. Good use of feature boxes.
    6. Basic use of quizzes.
    7. The quiz questions could be more effective as learning prompts by being embedded as single questions within each corresponding section rather than being presented as a set of questions at the end.
    8. Good use of case studies or examples.
  4. Grammar
    1. The grammar for many sentences could be improved (e.g., see the [grammar?] tags).
    2. Use serial commas[2] - it is part of APA style and generally recommended by grammaticists.
  5. APA style
    1. Provide more detailed Figure captions to help connect the figure to the text.
    2. Use APA style to refer to each Table and each Figure.
    3. References are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. See new doi format.
  1. ~3 logged, minor, social contributions with direct links to evidence

Multimedia feedback

The accompanying multimedia presentation has been marked according to the marking criteria. Marks are available via the unit's Canvas site. Written feedback is provided below, plus see the general feedback page. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below. If you would like further clarification about the marking or feedback, contact the unit convener.

Overall

[edit source]
  1. The presentation topic (GFT and climate change) does not match the book chapter topic (GFT). Climate change could be used an example, but the goal of the presentation was to provide an overview of the psychological theory and research about GFT.
  2. Overall, this is an promising presentation.
  3. This presentation makes effective use of simple tools.
  1. Good explanation of GFT in 0-2 mins. Minute 3 deviates into climate change and lacks a clear Conclusion with practical, take-home messages.
  2. Add and narrate an Overview slide, to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.
  3. Perhaps include other examples rather than only use climate change as an example.
  1. The presentation is interesting to watch and listen to.
  2. The presentation makes effective use of text and image based slides with narrated audio.
  3. Well paced. Excellent pauses between sentences. This helps the viewer to cognitively digest the information that has just been presented before moving on to the next point.
  4. Excellent intonation to enhance listener interest and engagement.
  5. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read.
  6. The visual communication is effectively supplemented by images.
  1. Check and correct spelling (e.g., environmental).
  2. Communicate the chapter title and sub-title in both the video title and on the opening slide this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  3. Audio recording quality was excellent.
  4. Video recording quality was excellent.
  5. Image sources and their copyright status are provided, but without active hyperlinks.
  6. A copyright license for the presentation is provided in the description, but not the meta-data.
  7. A link to the book chapter is not provided.
  8. A link from the book chapter is provided.
  9. A brief written description of the presentation is provided.
