Comments[edit source]

Hi u3142860, I thought you had made a great start on your book chapter! I noticed you had next to the section PTSD whether you should include it or not and I thought it would definitely be good to include it if you have the word count for it. I thought it would be really interesting to learn how PTSD as a child could go on to affect adults. Also, I noticed that you had broken the Alexithymia heading into another 2 headings and thought it might be better to leave out the further headings as it makes it look a bit cluttered. Also, that entire section (Affects on emotion I think it was called) it quite long so I thought it could be good to put in some images or text box's to break the section up a little. Hope this helps! -u3067591

Hi there, nice work. I am curious, have you found much on childhood trauma and Borderline Personality Disorder? Ninaq9 (discusscontribs) 16:53, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

The topic development has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing the chapter plan. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Topic development marks are available via UCLearn. Note that marks are based on what was available before the due date, whereas the comments may also be based on all material available at time of providing this feedback.

Title, sub-title, TOC[edit source]

  1. Excellent

User page[edit source]

  1. Very good

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. Well summarised
  2. See suggestions for how to record social contributions

Section headings[edit source]

  1. Perhaps reduce/consolidate the number of top-level headings - e.g., these preliminary topics probably don't warrant headings at all or at least not top-level headings:
    • What Is Emotion?
    • Prevalence of Childhood Trauma
    • Measurements
  2. The key proposed section (in terms of addressing the topic) is:
    • Emotional Consequences of Childhood Trauma

Key points[edit source]

  1. The Conclusion is the single most important section, so expand on the key, take-away messages
  2. Similiarly, the Overview is critical in terms of engaging and orienting a reader (e.g., consider adding a case study/example)
  3. For the key section, "Emotional Consequences of Childhood Trauma", provide some overview before heading into specific sections

Image[edit source]

  1. Excellent

References[edit source]

  1. Very good
  2. Use APA style
  3. For latest APA style recommended format for dois see http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2017/03/doi-display-guidelines-update-march-2017.html

Resources[edit source]

References[edit source]

This chapter is so interesting. I think you covered the essence on this topic. However, some of your references are a bit old. Remember that part of the marking critieria states: 'Utilise the best dozen or so peer-reviewed research references about the topic'. These may be the best out there but just something to keep in mind in case there are more recent and top-notch literature out there. I cannot wait to read your finsihed product. Word Count[edit source]

Hey, loved your chapter! I happened to notice you were a couple of words over the word limit, I've altered some sentences to cut down the word limit, but you're still 10 words over, something to consider before due date? good luck with exams and other assessment :) U3096514 (discusscontribs) 02:35, 21 October 2018 (UTC) U3096514[reply]

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is an excellent chapter that successfully uses psychological theory and research to help address a practical, real-world phenomenon or problem.
  2. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.

Theory[edit source]

  1. Relevant theories are well selected, described, and explained.
  2. ACE has 10 categories - only three are mentioned?

Research[edit source]

  1. Relevant research is well reviewed and discussed in relation to theory.

Written expression[edit source]

  1. Written expression
    1. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
    2. For 3rd year undergraduate psychology, consider going beyond dictionary definitions.
    3. Some of the bullet-points should have been in full paragraph format.
    4. The chapter benefited from a well developed Overview and Conclusion, with clear focus question(s) and take-home messages.
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
  3. Learning features
    1. Adding interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.
    2. Good use of images.
    3. No use of tables.
    4. Good use of feature boxes.
    5. Good use of quizzes.
    6. Basic use of case studies.

    4. Use Australian spelling (e.g., hypothesize vs. hypothesise; behavior vs. behaviour).
  5. APA style
    1. Refer to each Table and each Figure at least once within the main text.
    2. Citations are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. Use ampersand (&) inside brackets and "and" outside brackets.
    3. References are not in full APA style e.g.,
      1. Check and make correct use of capitalisation of minor words in journal titles.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is an excellent presentation that makes effective use of simple tools.

Structure and content[edit source]

  1. Well selected and structured content - however, too much is covered too fast - be more selective.
  2. The presentation is well structured (Title, Overview, Body, Conclusion).
  3. Considering adding an Overview slide, to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.

Communication[edit source]

  1. The presentation is fun and interesting to watch and listen to.
  2. The presentation makes effective use of text and animation based slides with narrated audio.
  3. Consider slowing down and leaving longer pauses between sentences. This can help the viewer to cognitively digest the information that has just been presented before moving on to the next point.
  4. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read in the time provided.
  5. The visual communication is effectively supplemented by images.

Production quality[edit source]

  1. The full chapter title and sub-title are used on the opening slide - this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  2. Use the full chapter title and sub-title in the name of the video because this helps to match the book chapter and to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  3. Audio and video recording quality was excellent.
  4. A copyright license for the presentation is provided.
  5. A link to and from the book chapter is provided.
