Comments[edit]

Hey There RainbowUnicorn!
You seem to have a good starting structure for your topic on Pleasure motivation. Just a quick suggestion of maybe looking at the motivation around the pleasure pain relationship. Maybe try an article like:
http://psycnet.apa.org/record/1997-43865-002
It talks briefly about pleasure being motivating. Good Luck!

Hi RainbowUnicorn! What a great start to your topic on pleasure motivation. In regards to the motivation triad, it would be interesting to look at how different individuals perceive pain and pleasure and the implications of such. For example an individual who loves wine isn't going to have the same pleasure, drinking wine than an individual who enjoys playing sport.--U3143124 (discusscontribs) 11:10, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Hey RainbowUnicorn97, will you be including any info on Freud and co's psychoanalytic perspective and the id's search for pleasure? This will really help to provide some contextual background to the study of pleasure in the young psych field.--Taylormeggles (discusscontribs) 11:31, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Heading casing[edit]

Crystal Clear app ktip.svg
FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Section headings[edit]

  1. Minimal development
  2. Vague/broad headings suggests a lack of knowledge development about the topic and a plan for the book chapter
  3. Do not include sub-sections in the Overview or Conclusion
  4. Make sure to avoid providing too much background/generic material. Instead briefly summarise background concepts and provide wiki links to further information. Then focus most of the content on directly answering the core question posed by the sub-title of chapter.

Key points[edit]

  1. Limited development - comments are as per Section headings criteria

Overall[edit]

  1. Overall, this is a solid chapter. The main area for improvement is attention to detail with regard to spelling and APA style.
  2. For additional feedback, see these copyedits.

Theory[edit]

  1. Theories were reasonably well covered.
  2. More integration of theories perhaps could have helped - the distinction between the Pleasure and Motivation sections seemed arbitrary. Perhaps consider some higher conceptual level of organisation.

well described and explained.

  1. It would be helpful it theories were named and referred to by name (e.g., in the Conclusion, theories are vaguely referred to).

Research[edit]

  1. Some useful research was covered, but there was room for more detail.
  2. Some statements were unreferenced - see the [factual?] tags
  3. When describing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  4. Greater emphasis on major reviews and meta-analyses would be helpful.

Written expression[edit]

  1. Written expression
    1. Some paragraphs were overly long. Each paragraph should communicate one key idea in three to five sentences.
    2. Abbreviations (such as e.g., i.e.., etc.) should only be used inside parentheses.
  2. Learning features
    1. Some interwiki links were added.
    2. Some images and feature boxes, with case studies were added.
  3. Spelling, grammar and proofreading
    1. Check and correct spelling
  4. APA style
    1. Check and correct formatting of citations and references
      1. Check and correct capitalisation
      2. Check and correct italicisation
      3. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within volumes.
