Talk:Motivation and emotion/Book/2013/Money and happiness
Add topicComments
[edit source]Hello, my chapter is based on happiness and failure and why happy people fail. My chapter investigates sub headings that surround money issues, for example I talk about occupation with regards to happiness and failure; this could link in with your topic regarding money and happiness. The connection would be between and individual's occupation and their respected financial income, and whether or not this produces happiness or failure. I think our chapters would link nicely together, especially if you decide to discuss minimal financial income and minimal happiness. I was just thinking that perhaps I could link your chapter to mine? Thanks! Pheonix (discuss • contribs) 07:42, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi there, I think your book chapter is really coming along, looks great!! I would recommend however that to answer the theme of self-help, why not have a a small section at the end
for people that suffer from gambling addiction- and how they can get help? Or other activities that can make a person happy? Just an idea. Here's a link to the wikipedia site for Problem
gambling; Problem gambling Good luck!! Verity Foster-Greenwood (discuss • contribs) 23:35, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
Heading casing
[edit source]FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:
==Cats and dogs== |
Intrisic & Extrinsic Motivation
[edit source]Hi Cassie, Glad the hanging indent thing worked. Can't figure out why the other method didn't work for us, but I guess it doesn't really matter now - something worked!
Your chapter looks great! I'd love to make a couple of suggestions if I may....There are a few grammatical errors particularly in the beginning which I would be happy to change for you, but I wanted to ask first (not that bold!). Also I've been researching intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for my topic - motivation for vegetarianism. I think it's a really relevant topic for your page. I see you have touched on in one section, but you haven't really explained what it means and spelled out the implications of it. Remembering the layperson is supposed to be able to understand our chapters, it makes sense to assume they wouldn't know the meaning of it. I think it's particularly relevant to you because extrinsic motivations such as the pursuit of financial gain, are know to be associated with lower subjective well-being. Also your page looks a little text heavy, and could benefit from breaking it up a little with more images, or perhaps summarising some of the main points in a table? You've obv put a lot of effort in though - well done ( : --Lynnmaree-27 (discuss • contribs) 01:35, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Let's link
[edit source]Hi there, your page looks amazing! I am still refining mine at the moment, I know I should just upload it all but I have put a lot of work in and feel like I would like to edit it a bit more before posting it publicly! But when I do, I would love to link our pages. Your section on financial goals is great and I haven't gone into it really, so it our pages should work well together. Well done on your page! Jen

Overall[edit source]A very useful chapter, well done. The chapter demonstrated a solid understanding of theory, well done. For future improvement, try to narrow the focus and perhaps focus on several of the theories in greater depth. The chapter tended to describe than critically analyse, though it’s a wikiversity book chapter it’s still an academic resource The chapter included some interesting research and showed good real world application and integration with theory. Again, for future improvement, evidence of critical analysis of the research is necessary The chapter was generally well written, but contained a few grammatical errors, be sure to thoroughly edit before submission The chapter had good inclusion of pictures and figures, however for future improvement to avoid the “text heavy” look, I suggest including some interactive features such as a quiz. The APA style was solid, well done, remember to include APA style for figures and only 1 author initial in reference list. Great effort! Courtney.reis (discuss • contribs)

Overall[edit source]Overall, a great effort. See comments below for feedback The presentation covered the main points of the chapter, well done. The flow of the presentation could be improved in the future by introducing new concepts with an introductory slide. The presentation would also benefit from some more integration of research into the discussion of theory. I see the presentation aimed to be different by including an analysis of some of the issues with the chapter which showed some critique and a different approach, well done. The presentation made good use of images. The voiceover was a little unclear but this is a small criticism. For future improvement, perhaps include some case studies or real world examples The quality of the production was good, and it made very effective use of images and basic tools, well done. Remember to include licensing information. Great effort! Courtney.reis (discuss • contribs) |
