Feedback[edit source]

Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

The topic development has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing the chapter plan. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Topic development marks are available via UCLearn. Note that marks are based on what was available before the due date, whereas the comments may also be based on all material available at time of providing this feedback.

Title, sub-title, TOC[edit source]

  1. Excellent

User page[edit source]

  1. Very good

Social contribution[edit source]

  1. Look like very useful contributions
  2. See suggestions for how to record social contributions

Section headings[edit source]

  1. Avoid sub-headings within the Overview - have shifted those sub-headings up one level
  2. Headings appear well-informed and logical
  3. However, bear in mind that the single most important section by far would be about the relationship between love and anger (i.e., the topic is about bringing these topics together). Present relatively briefly and love and anger as separate topics (can link to further dedicated info about each of these separate topics). Don't leave this integration until the Conclusion.

Key points[edit source]

  1. See comments about section headings - they also apply here - key points currently suggest a good understanding/plan about love and anger as separate concepts, but they are currently lacking in the key purpose of the chapter, which is about how they are interrelated. This probably means reducing some planned content and expanding on content which related love and anger.

Image[edit source]

  1. Good
  2. Use APA style for figure captions.

References[edit source]

  1. Good
  2. Use APA style

Chapter review and feedback[edit source]

This chapter has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Chapter marks will be available later via Moodle, along with social contribution marks and feedback. Keep an eye on Announcements.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is a promising chapter which is undermined by focusing two much on love and anger as separate concepts and too little on their relationship.
  2. Consider adding focus questions to the Overview - this could help to guide the structure of the chapter around the sub-title question.
  3. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.

Theory[edit source]

  1. Theories are love and anger as separate concepts are presented, but very little theory about their relationship is considered. Psychodynamic theory could be helpful here, as could neurophysiological perspectives.

Research[edit source]

  1. Comments are largely as for the theory criteria.

Written expression[edit source]

  1. Written expression
    1. Some of the bullet-points should have been in full paragraph format.
    2. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is structure contributes to the overemphasis on love and anger as separate constructs. Adjust the structure to focus more on their relationship.
  3. Learning features
    1. Adding interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.
    2. Embedding interwiki links links to other book chapters would help to integrate this chapter into the broader book project.
    3. Basic use of images.
    4. No use of tables.
    5. No use of feature boxes.
    6. No use of quizzes.
    7. No use of case studies or examples.
  4. Spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
      1. Use ampersand (&) inside brackets and "and" outside brackets.
  5. APA style
    1. Use APA style for Figure captions.
    2. Provide more detailed Figure captions to help connect the figure to the text.
    3. Numbers under 10 should be written in words (e.g., five); numbers 10 and over should be written in numbers (e.g., 10).
    4. Citations
    5. References are in very good APA style e.g.,
      1. Check and make correct use of capitalisation.

Multimedia feedback

The accompanying multimedia presentation has been marked according to the marking criteria. Marks are available via the unit's Canvas site. Written feedback is provided below, plus see the general feedback page. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below. If you would like further clarification about the marking or feedback, contact the unit convener.

Overall[edit source]

  1. Overall, this is a basic sufficient presentation with the same problems of lack of sufficient focus on the relationship between love and anger (and too much focus on these as separate concepts).

Structure and content[edit source]

  1. Most of the comments about the book chapter also apply to this section.
  2. The presentation is reasonably well structured (Title, Body, Conclusion) - adding an Overview could help to discipline the focus.
  3. The presentation could be strengthened by adding a Conclusion slide with practical, take-home messages.

Communication[edit source]

  1. The presentation makes simple use of text and image based slides with narrated audio and Powtoon.
  2. Well paced.
  3. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read in the time provided.

Production quality[edit source]

  1. Use the full chapter title and sub-title on the opening slide and in the name of the video because this helps to match the book chapter and to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  2. Audio and video recording quality is good.
  3. Images sources and their copyright is well acknowledged.
  4. A copyright license for the presentation is provided.
  5. A link to the book chapter is not provided.

Hey James, a link to the book chapter was provided as the last slide of the presentation. Does that not count or was a clickable link preferred? --U3158984 (discusscontribs) 01:00, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I like how this book chapter includes a section about how the theories relate to each other. --U3160221 (discusscontribs) 07:37, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
