[edit source]
  1. Included; formatting adjusted

User page

[edit source]
  1. Basic
  2. Consider including a link to the book chapter you are working on

Social contribution

[edit source]
  1. Summarised, but no links provided to to evidence of contributions (it should be easy to see the changes you made at first glance, without any searching), so claims aren't quickly and easily verifiable
  2. See suggestions for how to record social contributions

Heading casing

[edit source]
FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

New APA style for writing DOI

[edit source]

Based on http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2017/03/doi-display-guidelines-update-march-2017.html, it is better to change the way of referencing the DOI's references.

  1. The volume should be erased and the number of volumes should be in italic.
  2. Instead of doi:, http://doi.org/ should be used.
  3. The name of the publisher also should be in italic.

Page Feedback

[edit source]

Hey Luke, I have just come across your page and thought I would comment and say i really like that idea of how you have added the focus questions in the overview! it reminds me of all of the real textbooks i am reading at the moment, so awesome idea! Also just thought i would mention that your referencing list is looking a little off but i am hesitant to touch it up as i am unsure if some are books. Just in case you are unsure of this the journal title and the volume should be in italics with no need to ad "vol" when referencing Journal articles. Hope this was helpful!

Layout suggestion

[edit source]

Hi, overall very interesting topic on behavioural activation and motivation. I suggest that maybe use some boxes or tables this would not only help the reader but also to make it look less cluttered with all the words.

Here is a wikiuniversity page that gives you all the formatting for tables and boxes

Chapter review and feedback

[edit source]

This chapter has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to check for editing changes made whilst reviewing through the chapter. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Chapter marks will be available later via Moodle, along with social contribution marks and feedback. Keep an eye on Announcements.

Overall

[edit source]
  1. Overall, this is a very good chapter that successfully uses psychological theory and research to help address a practical, real-world phenomenon or problem.
  2. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.
  1. Relevant theories are well selected, described, and explained.
  1. Relevant research is well reviewed and discussed in relation to theory.
  2. When describing important research findings, consider including a bit more detail about the methodology and indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  1. Written expression
    1. Use third person perspective, rather than first person (e.g., "we") or second person (e.g., "you") perspective.
    2. The chapter benefited from a well developed Overview and Conclusion, with clear focus question(s) and take-home messages.
  2. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing.
    2. Sections which include sub-sections should also include an introductory paragraph (which doesn't need a separate heading) before branching into the sub-headings.
    3. Avoid having sections with only one sub-section.
  3. Learning features
    1. Adding more interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.
    2. Good use of images.
    3. No use of tables.
    4. Good use of feature boxes.
    5. Basic use of quizzes.
    6. Some use of case studies or examples.
  4. Grammar
    1. Check and make correct use of commas.
  5. Spelling
    1. Spelling can be improved (e.g., see the [spelling?] tags).
    2. Use Australian spelling (e.g., hypothesize vs. hypothesise; behavior vs. behaviour; fulfillment vs. fulfilment).
  6. Proofreading
    1. More proofreading is needed to fix typos and bring the quality of written expression closer to a professional standard.
    2. Remove unnecessary capitalisation.
    3. Check and correct formatting of abbreviations (such as e.g., i.e.., etc.).
  7. APA style
    1. Refer to each Table and each Figure at least once within the main text.
    2. Citations are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. A serial comma is needed before "&" or "and" for citations involving three or more authors.
      2. Do not use a comma to separate citations which involve only two authors.
      3. Use ampersand (&) inside brackets and "and" outside brackets.
      4. Do not include author initials in citations.
    3. References are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. Check and make correct use of italicisation.
      2. See new doi format.
      3. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within volumes.

If you would like further clarification about the marking or feedback, contact the unit convener.

Overall

[edit source]
  1. Overall, this is an excellent presentation that makes effective use of simple tools.
  2. The presentation is over the maximum time limit - content beyond 3 mins is ignored for marking purposes.
  1. Very useful/interesting content - but overall, too much content is presented too fast.
  2. Add and narrate a Title slide, to help the viewer understanding the focus and goal of the presentation.
  3. Add and narrate an Overview slide, to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.
  4. The presentation could be strengthened by adding a Conclusion slide with practical, take-home messages (was included, but outside time limit).
  1. The presentation is fun, easy to follow, and interesting to watch and listen to.
  2. The presentation makes effective use of text and animated image based slides with narrated audio.
  3. Consider slowing down and leaving longer pauses between sentences. This can help the viewer to cognitively digest the information that has just been presented before moving on to the next point.
  4. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read in the time provided.
  5. The visual communication is effectively supplemented by images.
  1. Use the full chapter title and sub-title on the opening slide and in the name of the video because this helps to match the book chapter and to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  2. Audio and video recording quality was excellent.
  3. Consider muting the music during narration to help the viewer concentrate on the combination of visual information and narrated audio.
  4. Images sources are well acknowledged.
  5. Add acknowledgement of image sources used in the presentation.
  6. A copyright license for the presentation is provided.
  7. A link to and from the book chapter is provided.
  8. A brief written description of the presentation is provided - check and correct spelling.
