Feedback
[edit source]Hey! So I really like the 'quick facts' and the quiz at the end, I think they really add to the chapter and make it easy to grasp an understanding of the concepts. I would probably suggest that for the trauma section and the section regarding PTSD you should add case studies and empirical evidence, I remember Phineas Gage experienced different emotions and a change in emotions after his industrial accident. Other than that, I really like the layout :) Good luck with it! Pheonix (discuss • contribs) 05:01, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
Depression and memory
[edit source]Hi there, we were discussing in tutorials last week the role of depression in memory. There was consensus that this had more to do with poor concentration than another mechanism of memory, so i thought i would forward a few articles to you that I found interesting that shows other more complex factors. Not sure if these will be useful in your chapter but if you choose to venture this idea of 'overgeneral autobiographical memory' these may be helpful starting points

smell, music and memory and emotion
[edit source]i was just thinking, when people smell certain scents this triggers the memory of that smell and the emotional response to that smell also with music, music from a certain time period in a persons life can bring back memories and emotions of that point in their lives. you should incorporate that into your chapter, would make for a really interesting read. <3 --Kerrington (discuss • contribs) 11:33, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
Hey! What an awesome chapter!! I really like the quick facts part as well as the quiz, I found it helped ingrain what I'd learned! I changed a spelling error that I found, but it seems like you're definitely on the right track! EmmaP (discuss • contribs) 16:02, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
Links to Wikipedia
[edit source]Great to see the way this chapters links key words to Wikipedia articles. To improve those links, change them from external to internal links (e.g., Emotion). Sincerely, James -- Jtneill - Talk - c 11:08, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
Long quotes?
[edit source]Some of the latter paragraphs appear to be long quotes? -- Jtneill - Talk - c 11:12, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
Fun facts - Smell and emotion
[edit source]Love this - could go well into a side box with a picture. Particularly like the way this links to another book chapter too. -- Jtneill - Talk - c 11:13, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

[edit source]hey! thanks for your contribution to my self-serving bias section! i just found this neat little short term memory test that i thought you could look at/use potentially

http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/stm0.html Ive edited your STM and LTM sections to help you out a little bit because you did such a good job of helping me! :) Also, im not sure if numbering your reference list is correct. James has said to try to keep it as close to APA formatting as wiki will allow, so i would take out the numbering because it isnt APA. :) --Kerrington (discuss • contribs) 04:23, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Overall[edit source]This is a really interesting chapter with research well incorporated - good job! The theories explored were well identified. The chapter would benefit from a section dedicated to theory, so that the constructs can be explored in greater detail. Research is well identified and utilised throughout the chapter. To improve further, include some evidence of critical analysis. This is a really nicely presented chapter. The 'quick facts' and 'fun facts' sections are a great inclusion, and the quiz helps to make the chapter interactive. APA is generally well done. ShaunaB (discuss • contribs)

Overall[edit source]Theory and research are well integrated throughout this presentation. The flow works particularly well. Information is of academic quality, and content appears to be accurate. Verbal communication is clear, confident and very engaging. At times, speech was slightly too fast. Images were used well to support dialogue. Illustrative examples are included throughout, and this helped me engage the viewer. Picture and sound quality are good. Basic production tools are well used. The relaxed delivery of verbal information made the presentation engaging, however the language used was perhaps a little less professional at times. |
