Wikiversity:Differences between Wikiversity and Wikipedia

From Wikiversity

What is the difference between Wikiversity and Wikipedia? And which content belongs to which project?

Resource types

[edit source]

Wikiversity and Wikipedia are both different in their content. Wikiversity is for learning resources, while Wikipedia is for encyclopedia articles (even though there are degrees of "articles", such as pages here, that can be considered as "learning resources".). Overall, an article that is not providing any interactive learning experiences (collection of pages, projects, etc.) is not in the scope of Wikiversity.

Categories

[edit source]

On Wikiversity, user subpages that add value can be included in the same categories as main space pages. On Wikipedia, user subpages are only put in separate categories.

Sub pages

[edit source]

Unlike on Wikipedia, main space pages can have sub pages on Wikiversity.
