Wikiversity:Differences between Wikiversity and Wikibooks

From Wikiversity
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Wikiversity was originally a sub-project within Wikibooks. It became an independent project in August 2006. This page describes some of the main content-related differences between the projects.

Resource types[edit source]

One of the main differences between Wikiversity and Wikibooks is the number and variety of available resource types. Wikibooks is for books. Wikiversity is for a large variety of learning resources (see box below). As a book may also be a learning resource (e.g. textbook for school use), some degree of overlap is possible.
