Having discussed with with editorial board, we have decided to decline this submission as a desk rejection. Unacknowledged plagiarism of text was detected from Pilmis B et al. Additionally, the article reads as an opinion piece that doesn't sufficiently represent the current state of science in the chosen sub-field, or present and synthesise its points sufficiently coherently. It therefore doesn't meet the threshold of merit necessary for sending out for peer review.
