The question "Which holds true about the clock of ethernet devices - The clocks are synchronized." is ambiguous. A priori clocks are not in sync, but they are synchronized when the preamble reaches the target.

I have fixed this --Renepick (discusscontribs) 13:59, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"consists of" also is very ambiguous such that I find the explanation "Ethernet can only operate in local area networks on a very short distance so a lot of Internet traffic uses other Link Layer" misleading. If one thinks of only switches and routers connect different Ethernet networks, then all the traffic would still be Ethernet. The reason I would say is rather that we have glas fibre, wireless, DSL, etc. too. --SteffenStaab (discusscontribs) 11:46, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here I do not fully agree since wifi is also ethernet based and cannot be switched since the air really is a shared medium. if you find a better formulation please feel free to replace it --Renepick (discusscontribs) 13:59, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

clock of ethernet devices[edit source]

The clock frequency has an impact to the minimum length of an ethernet frame can you explain how?I did not understand --141.26.69.70 (discuss) 19:29, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
