Seismology[edit source]

The overall list of contents for Tectonic hazards is great except Seismology. As an example of what I'm getting at here is the definition of seismology from Wiktionary: "The study of the vibration of the Earth's interior caused by natural and unnatural sources, such as earthquakes." Seismometers do not measure earthquakes. They measure vibrations, sound waves for want of a better term. Seismology is the acoustics of the Earth. Seismographs measure to some extent all of the tectonic hazards in the contents. They also measure meteorite strikes when they are close to a seismograph. What do you think about Seismology/Tectonic hazards. Seismology is better as a lecture for one or more courses for the School:Geology or School:Geophysics? --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 16:49, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

While it won't be right away. What do you think of a lecture on seismology focused on the natural vibrations of the Earth and the accompanying acoustics. The tectonic hazard portions could then be placed under Tectonic hazards/Seismology. There's enough material available for both. --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 02:13, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
