Hi, Great idea for a chapter, I look forward to seeing how it comes together. The concept of delayed gratification, specifically as it relates to experiments like the Stanford Marshmallow experiment, I find extremely interesting. FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

fixed typos[edit source]

Hi, just catching up on feedback and know this is a little late but hopefully will help before marking?? Have only fixed a couple of very minor typos (eg: changed 'wre' to 'were'). Really like the placement and selection of pictures. Overall this chapter gave a good overview, but perhaps could have drawn on a few more references to flesh it out a bit? Theory[edit source]

  1. The Overview is basic but sufficient. To improve, consider possibly including focus questions and/or a case study.
  2. The chapter doesn't discuss happiness as a construct - what is it?
  3. The chapter provides a basic description of Zimbardo's time perspective. However, it lacks sufficient consideration of how TP relates to happiness. For example, it could be helpful to discuss the optimal time profile in more detail and how it can help facilitate a balance between shorter- and longer-term happiness.
  4. The Conclusion could be improved by emphasising practical, take-home messages.

Research[edit source]

  1. The chapter considers a limited range of relevant research and thus lacks a sufficiently in-depth research review.
  2. Was the James (1890) source directly consulted? If not, don't cite it (or use a secondary citation).
  3. Some statements are unreferenced (e.g., see the [factual?] tags)
  4. When describing important research studies, provide some indication of the nature of the method.
  5. When discussing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.

And the relationship between time perspective and happiness didn’t display in a clear way too. And I think it would be a good idea to narrow down the question based on the five time perspective and balanced time perspective.
