Hey! What an interesting topic. Your book chapter is very well thought through, you have done an excellent job! It reads very well. I understand that you posted in the Discussion on moodle that you had an extension, so I hope you have not already submitted for marking. However even if you have I am lucky that I do not have much constructive feedback to provide! I love the mini quizzes at the end of each section. Its weird that you have to reset each time though, but it is not a big deal. The only thing that I do not think that reads well is the format of the audi picture under the heading 'brand awareness'. I do understand that you are trying to change it up, but it disrupted my reading. Just a minor thought, otherwise very well done (: --U3083035 (discusscontribs) 08:26, 8 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello!

I'm surprised to see this hasn't been posted, but with wiki quizzes, it takes your response for the first one and applies it to all of the ones on the page. You may want to place it in bold in front of each question to press reset once they receive their result. It is a very clever idea to summarize and test each section though. I think this page is quite well done otherwise. U3069744 (discusscontribs) 09:41, 25 October 2015 (UTC) Hi, just wanted to suggest that we share links between our two book chapters. Mine is on the Zeigarnik effect which is often used in advertising to create strong memories for brand or product. - U943390Reply

Hi! Just thought I'd pop by and let you know how interesting your chapter looks! It's amazing how much influence brand names can have on what we buy. I think you've done a great job at looking at the most important reasons as to why we do it and it's good that you've provided some limitations. Some great images used too! Might I provide a suggestion to mix it up a bit with the images and place some to the left of the writing or by centering some of them, instead of having them all to the right? If you prefer them to the right then that's totally fine! Just don't forget to add figure numbers to each image as per the APA formatting. Some links to key concepts would be good for the reader to explore further, for example intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, the prospect theory, cue utilization theory and the social identity theory. They're explained well, but is always good for some further reading. Good luck :) --Bt1718 (discusscontribs) 9:41, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Looks great! Maybe enhance the size of your pics (so they are like the last one. Very interesting topic. Good luck U3040525 (discusscontribs) 06:56, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

very good, the use of quizzes scattered throughout the chapter is a great idea and has great effect! the flow and layout is also great, just keep reading through it before you submit it U3097561 (discusscontribs) 20:17, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey! What a great book chapter and relevant topic. I noticed you haven't put anything under your 'External links' section yet. Here is an article that explores the ways in which emotions influence our decision to purchase something, particularly when it comes to brands: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/inside-the-consumer-mind/201302/how-emotions-influence-what-we-buy Well done and good luck! Uu3148421 (discusscontribs) 01:18, 27 October 2015 (UTC) Hi! Your chapter looks really good but i would recommend adding some specific examples/case studies of social acceptance that motivates people to buy consumer goods. I think it would be easy to come up with a direct example for that! goodluck :)Reply

Hi there! Really interesting topic, definitely one everyone can relate to on many levels! Your images being bright but well placed draw the readers attention and definitely kept me engaged! The motivators to buy branded are definitely thorough, however may i suggest placing more emphasis onto the theoretical background, and finding real life application through the theory? For instance, Social Identity Theory has real-world application to 'The Self' as well as 'Social Acceptance'. The quizzes throughout the chapter are handy and continues with reader engagement. --U3096856 (discusscontribs) 12:23, 30 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
