There is some good information here however you could include more detailed information in the treatment section. For example you could include information about what CBT is and give specific idea of how individuals could overcome boredom. Possibly including information about mindfulness as this might help people to accept their boredom.

Johns, L. C., Sellwood, W., McGovern, J., & Haddock, G. (2002). Battling boredom: Group cognitive behaviour therapy for negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy, 30(3), 341-346. doi:10.1017/S1352465802003089

This article could provide some good information on treating boredom.

Heading casing

[edit source]
FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Overall

[edit source]
  1. Overall, this is a basic, but sufficient chapter.
  2. For more feedback see these copyedits and the comments below.
  1. Basic theory description is provided.
  2. Addition of case studies or additional examples could be helpful.
  1. Some relevant research is described in a basic way.
  2. Did you consult Maslow (1943)? If not, don't cite it.
  3. Be careful of the interpretation of correlational results. For example, "the motivation to achieve self-actualisation was hindered by boredom" - alternatively it might be that self-actualisation makes life less boring?
  4. Some statements were unreferenced (e.g., see the [factual?] tags)
  5. When describing important research studies, provide some indication of the nature of the sample and possibly cultural context.
  6. When discussing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  1. The quality of written expression could be improved (e.g., see where clarification templates have been added to the page).
    1. Obtaining (earlier) comments on a chapter plan and/or chapter draft could have helped to improve the chapter.
  2. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing
  3. Learning features
    1. Add Interwiki links (e.g., to relevant Wikipedia articles and other Wikiversity book chapters) to make the text more interactive.
  4. Minimal use of Tables and Figures.
  5. Spelling
    1. Use Australian spelling (some general examples are hypothesize -> hypothesise; behavior -> behaviour).
    2. Spelling could be improved - see the [spelling?] tags.
  6. Grammar and proofreading
    1. Check and correct the use of ownership apostrophes (e.g., individuals vs. individual's vs. individuals').
    2. The grammar of some sentences could be improved (e.g., see the [grammar?] tags).
  7. APA style
    1. The reference list is not in full APA style.
    2. Direct quotes need page numbers.
    3. Check and correct the APA style formatting of in-text citations.

Overall

[edit source]
  1. Overall, this is a basic, but sufficient presentation.
  1. Well structured.
  2. Theory was well covered.
  3. Include citations.
  4. Perhaps consider using more illustrative examples.
  1. The first 20 seconds of audio is irrelevant/not needed - the viewer is interested in the problem/topic - cut to the chase.
  2. Present in the third person (i.e., avoid "I", "my", "we" etc.).
  3. Audio sync between sentences is sometimes too short.
  4. Consider using greater intonation to enhance engagement.
  5. Audio is sometimes too fast to easily comprehend - consider slowing down. See this article for more information about speaking rates.
  6. Visuals are simple and text-based, with some tables. Consider also including diagrams and/or images.
  1. Overall, simple but effective production.
  2. Rename the title so that it includes the subtitle (and matches the book chapter).
  3. A copyright license for the presentation is not indicated (i.e., in the description or in the presentation slides).
