very impressed

[edit source]

Hi, i'm very impressed with this piece - it seems you're really on top of it so early! I made some very very minor proof read edits to some of the sentences that I think help with the overall flow. Also went through your reference to see if I could pick up on any bits you missed out and there was a only a few full stops and some italicisation missing that I fixed for you. All in all I think you've done a great job. Joelthebaws (discusscontribs)

Heading casing

[edit source]
FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

APA style captions for images and tables

[edit source]

I recommend using APA style captions i.e., Figure 1, Figure 2 etc. for all images, graphs etc. and Table 1, Table 2 etc. for all tables. The caption text should not be in italics. Overall

[edit source]

Overall, this is a good presentation. Well done.

The structure is clear, however the flow could be improved. Remember to include linking sentences to transition smoothly from one idea to the next. Research and theory are a primary focus of the presentation. A clear summary is provided to conclude the presentation. Illustrative examples are not included.

Communication is well done. The voice-over is clear, with good expression and pauses between sentences and slides. The slides are nicely put together. Images are used only in transition slides, and this does not allow the viewer to see them properly. They could be included on the slides with text.

Basic production tools are used. The audio quality is sufficient, although there is some peaking. The visuals are clear. A link to the book chapter is provided.

Overall

[edit source]
  1. Overall, this is a very good chapter. The chapter could be improved by focusses less on eyewitness memory in general and more on eyewitness memory and emotion. For more feedback, see my copyedits and comments below.
  1. Theory about eyewitness memory is well covered. Theory about emotion, however, is less well covered.
  1. The chapter has a strong research focus. The balance is probably too much towards research and not enough towards theory and practical application.
  2. When describing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  1. In general, the written expression was very good.
  2. The overview could benefit from including an example and introducing the key topics to be discussed in more detail. Perhaps focus questions could also be established.
  3. The conclusion could be improved by providing a summary of key points and emphasising the take-home, practical messages.
    1. The quality of written expression could be improved where clarification templates have been added to the page.
  4. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing
    2. Figures were used effectively.
  5. Learning features
    1. The quiz doesn't include any questions about emotion and eyewitness memory which is the main purpose of the chapter.
    2. The initial parts of the chapter provide some relevant links to Wikiversity and/or Wikiversity pages. More such links could be added to other parts of the chapter.
  6. Spelling, grammar and proofreading was generally very good.
  7. APA style is very good.
    1. Add APA style captions to tables and figures
    2. Remove issue numbers for seriated journal references.
