Comments[edit source]

Hey Bridge!!

You have made such a great start. I like where you are heading. I think its a great idea you having tips for employees and employers and how you have incorporated a quiz to determine what sort of motivation you posses in the workplace.

Are you going to state negatives and positives of the workplace motivations?

I cant really fault anything. I know this is just a draft of yours so far so perhaps all I can maybe say it just make sure your headings are consistent . i.e. where capital letters are placed in the headings.. But other then that I cant wait to start reading more information you find!

Hi Jess! Yes, in the "Workplace Motivation" section I am going to provide the context. How much time we actually spend at work, the effect of of motivation and demotivation in this context on our broader lives, and why it is an important topic to address. If you think of any ideas to add, let me know? --Bridgiedidge (discusscontribs) 10:52, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Bridge

Your page is really effective. Its easy to follow and its design is simple but capturing. I really like to how you have put quotes in at the start of some of your sections. I was just thinking though have you thought about mentioning if there is any negatives about the Autonomous Motivation? That could perhaps be a way you could add some critical analysis to your research?

Hey Bridge,

Thanks for your input on my page. I will rearrange the structure so my article flows better! Thanks for the suggestion. And yes I wasn't happy with thst sentence either infront of theories so I will figure out something to do with that.

I edited your references so they are APA style. To do that you just need to add this : to the line you want indented. Or you can insert : by a push of the button as its the third link across from format in the tool box on the top of your editing section.

Helps heaps.. your THE BEST! --Bridgiedidge (discusscontribs) 05:47, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested reading[edit source]

Hey I saw your post on moodle - I found something that looks to be an interesting read. Hopefully you can use this when talking about goal setting like you suggested. from page 340-344. Hope this is of some help. Let me know if the link doesnt work. --3069576 (discusscontribs) 07:44, 26 October 2013 (UTC) Workplace motivation article link[reply]

Awesome! Thanks so much for replying! I've tried the link and I can't access it for some reason. It is obviously from the UC site so if you give me the title and the database I should be able to locate it.. Thank you once again! --Bridgiedidge (discusscontribs) 10:51, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no! I only just saw this the title was "Self-determination theory and work motivation." Hope its not to late for you to use it :)

Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

-- Jtneill - Talk - c 12:00, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!! Is this also the case for theory titles e.g Self determination theory rather then Self Determination Theory? --Bridgiedidge (discusscontribs) 12:11, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, for proper names such as names of theories, stick with Upper Case -- Jtneill - Talk - c 12:15, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Previous related chapter[edit source]

I've added this previous chapter to the see also section Motivation and emotion/Book/2011/Work motivation and work satisfaction. See how the current chapter can link to and distinguish itself from this previous chapter. Sincerely, James -- Jtneill - Talk - c 12:08, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Minor grammar suggestion[edit source]

Hey Bridge! I was just looking over you chapter and thought of maybe ditching the apostrophe in the "So... who want's to do this paper work?" quote. Other than that it's looking awesome. I especially like the second scenario in your overview section :D Ashkrance (discusscontribs) 06:35, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Aesthetic value[edit source]

Hey Bridge, your page looks so great! I was thinking, the colour you've chosen in the overview section makes it a little hard on the eye, and makes it hard to read, so reconsider revising the colour. DorisWeasley (discusscontribs) 01:25, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

quick fix[edit source]

Hey Bridge :) Was just reading your work, love it by the way!! And I noticed that in section 8 you had an apostrophe in the word "wants" - just got rid of it. Haha, that's all! Jen x Jen.Robson (discusscontribs) 02:13, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Link to intrinsic motivation[edit source]

Hello lovely Bridge :) Thank you for linking my page, I am going to go ahead and link yours now. You are most definitely right - I think workplace motivation and intrinsic motivation share a very, very important link. I find it upsetting that this is contrary to what seems to be the more common outlook/attitude toward "work" and why people work in the specific fields/manners that they do. Your chapter looks great, by the way. All the best. --Jacki Ball (discusscontribs) 04:54, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

link to motivational contagion[edit source]

Yooooo Bridge!! Great work on your chapter!! just letting you know i will be linking you page to mine as I talk a bit about autonomy-supportive motivation style, and i believe that there are aspects of you chapter that tie in really nicely with mine! Overall[edit source]

A balanced, informative and applied chapter, well done.

Theory[edit source]

The chapter demonstrated a solid understanding and application of SDT, good work. For future improvement, be sure to show some evidence of critical analysis of the theory.

Research[edit source]

The chapter included some interesting research and showed good real world application. Again, for future improvement, evidence of critical analysis of the research is necessary

Written expression[edit source]

The chapter was generally well written, but contained a few grammatical errors, be sure to thoroughly edit before submission There was fantastic inclusion of learning features, well done. I particularly liked the “key point” drop down bars. The APA style could use some work, remember to include APA style for figures and DOI’s and web addresses for each reference. Great effort! Overall[edit source]

What a fantastic and creative presentation, well done.

Structure and content[edit source]

The presentation had a structured flow and was easy to follow. I particularly enjoyed the videod segments with the illustrated case examples. A suggestion for improvement might be to incorporate some more fo the chapters research and perhaps some critique of the SDT, but this is a minor criticism

Communication[edit source]

The speaking tone was well paced, and there was a good balance of visual aspects and slides that had to be read. Fantastic work

Production quality[edit source]

The presentation made effective use of a range of tools, well done. Fantastic effort! Courtney.reis (discusscontribs)
