Hey! found a pretty interesting reference you might find useful. It talks about "Reparative Therapy" which may change sexual orientation. The reference states that through this therapy it is possible. Quite controversial so could be an interesting point to look more into! Here's the reference if you wanted to have a look: https://www.stolaf.edu/people/huff/classes/Psych130F2010/LabDocuments/Spitzer.pdf Thegrounav (discusscontribs) 11:33, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm doing the topic 'Motivation and relationships'. I wanted to get your permission to put a link on my page to yours, i thought it was relevant as i was only researching hetrosexual relationships. Thanks. U3049223 (discusscontribs) 11:30, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lovely to see someone is doing a book chapter on this topic :) I'm all for equality so I like that you're focusing on all types of sexual orientation!! I believe it is quite hard for some people going through puberty and realizing there may be something "different" about them compared to the majority of people they come across.. It might be an idea to include some links so people know who to talk to if they are going through this themselves. I found this kids helpline website which has some numbers to call if people need help, it might be nice to include it in your book chapter :) http://www.kidshelp.com.au/teens/get-help/who-else-can-help/helpful-links/sexual-orientation.php Good luck with your chapter :) EmmaP (discusscontribs) 14:52, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Epigenetics and the manifestation of homosexuality[edit source]

http://scitechdaily.com/homosexuality-might-develop-in-the-womb-due-to-epigenetic-changes/ In my opinion, this is the most promising hypothesis for those that support or lend more credence to the "biology" side in the nature vs. nurture argument of the causes of different sexual orientations. Might be useful or interesting. U3054911 (discusscontribs) 05:20, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other types of sexual orientation[edit source]

Hi there, I'm doing the topic on how to get more sex (sexual motivation), so naturally I was interested in checking out your page!

After looking at your chapter headings I realised that some of the content I was planning to include might be better under your page instead. For example I was going to look at Pansexuality and Polyamorous relationships, eg. are there sexual motivations behind engaging in poly relationships, how do people who engage in 'gender blind' relationships (pansexual's) differ from monogamists, etc. I may briefly touch on poly relationships in my chapter, but I think including Pansexuality would increase the scope and be a bit off topic for me. I definitely think it's something that should be touched on in your chapter though, in order to include people who are transgendered and intersex. Also, because of the current changes in ACT legislation on same sex marriage, those who are transgendered and intersex fall into a black hole, so I think it's quite topical and important to include.

Hi! Thanks heaps for your contribution on mine, I've found a few sources that you might find helpful, and I'm sorry it's a bit last minute but I hope it helps in any way! All the best!

Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Overall[edit source]

This chapter tackled an extremely controversial and hard hitting topic, I applaud your effort!

Theory[edit source]

This chapter covered numerous theories and showed decent understanding, well done. There was some evidence of critical analysis for 2 of the theories, and this was fantastic to see, for future improvement keep working on this skill!

Research[edit source]

There was some fascinating research covered in this chapter, good job. Remember to back up all statements with references. For future improvement, engage in more critical analysis of the research to direct future research and show a greater depth of understanding. Good work!

Written expression[edit source]

The chapter had a logical flow, and the layout was engaging and eyecatching. Overall, the chapter was engaging and generally well written, well done. The learning features were good, I liked the figures and the quiz. For future improvement, include some in text links. The APA style was solid, well done. Remember to use APA format for all figures and revise italicising rules for the reference list. Great job! Courtney.reis (discusscontribs)

Multimedia feedback

The accompanying multimedia presentation has been marked according to the marking criteria. Marks are available via login to the unit's Moodle site. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below. If you would like further clarification about the marking or feedback, contact the unit convener. If you wish to dispute the marks, see the suggested marking dispute process.

Overall[edit source]

Overall, a good effort. See comments below for feedback

Structure and content[edit source]

The presentation covered the main points of the chapter, good job. There was a good coverage of theory and research. For future improvement, perhaps use a powerpoint presentation to give the flow more structure and help guide the viewer.

Communication[edit source]

The presentation was a basic camera presentation. For future improvement, re record to a powerpoint or other mechanism to allow more creativity and engagement for the viewer. This can allow the use of images etc. The presentation could also benefit from some examples, i.e a case study, and rerecording to a script to stop the “um’s”.

Production quality[edit source]

The quality of the presentation was basic, the film jumped at points. The audio quality was fairly sound. Remember to include a link to the chapter, references and licensing info. Good effort! Courtney.reis (discusscontribs)
