Comment[edit]

HI there, I was looking around and found this article and thought it would be good for your assignment. If not, just thought i would help out! http://zh9bf5sp6t.search.serialssolutions.com.ezproxy1.canberra.edu.au/?genre=article&issn=14710153&title=Eating+Behaviors&volume=14&issue=3&date=20130801&atitle=Eating+pathology%2c+emotion+regulation%2c+and+emotional+overeating+in+obese+adults+with+binge+eating+disorder.&spage=309&pages=309-313&sid=EBSCO:PsycINFO&au=Gianini%2c+Loren+M. Hey thanks for that, Paigey92; it opened up a whole new avenue for me - emotion & over/undereating :) SweetJessieRose (discusscontribs) 09:51, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

In-class conversation[edit]

Hi there, I'm not sure if you remember, but we discussed this topic in class aaaaaages ago and I suggested looking into the effect of food on dopamine release and the links between ADHD and over-eating. There are two reasons people with ADHD are prone to over-eating; one is that they have impulse control issues and the second is that eating can be a form of self-medication as ADHD is associated with a problem with certain dopamine receptors in the brain... I haven't seen any clinical literature on this (I haven't really looked) but websites such as http://www.additudemag.com/adhd/article/7306.html might be a good place to start.

Also of interest might be boredom and eating, but I have no idea if there's any research into it! Good luck - Katie (TheDancingZebra (discusscontribs) 06:04, 2 November 2013 (UTC))

Overall[edit]

Well done for producing an interesting chapter on a very current topic.

Theory[edit]

A sound understanding of the concepts put forward is shown. A more in-depth explanation of the theories would benefit the chapter. Also, to improve further, include more of a focus on practical application.

Research[edit]

Some really interesting research is presented in this chapter, and this is a major strength of the work. Some evidence of critical analysis would be beneficial.

Written expression[edit]

The chapter is well written, and suitable for the target audience. Well done for including links throughout. APA is quite well done. To improve further, include elements to encourage reader interaction e.g. quiz or case studies. ShaunaB (discusscontribs)

Overall[edit]

Structure and content[edit]

Research is well integrated, however theory could have been much more thoroughly explored. The structure of the presentation could also be improved.

Communication[edit]

Please review the marking criteria prior to submission - ideas were to be communicated using voice as well as image. The exclusion of verbal communication made the presentation less engaging. Illustrative examples were also omitted. The images that were included were effective.

Production quality[edit]

Picture and sound quality were clear, although some words were a little difficult to read because of their small size. ShaunaB (discusscontribs)
