Orthoptic clinical practice

This subject will introduce you to the orthoptic clinical setting. It is a beginning level placement subject that includes a one week clinical placement where theories and investigative and management procedures can be applied under the supervision of a qualified professional.

Intended Learning Outcomes[edit | edit source]

  1. Communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their families to the level of a novice
  2. Translate technical orthoptic and ophthalmic information into practical advise for patients.
  3. Perform appropriate clinical investigation for differential diagnosis which is informed by a comprehensive case history and ongoing clinical findings.
