Rome wasn't built in a day, and young scholars do not absorb 4000 years of human knowledge, wisdom, and insight in a few years. What we need to do is adopt policies that promote 21st Century notions of Due Process, Civil Rights, Educational Theory and Practice, and Scholarly Ethics rather than anachronistic, unseemly, unbecoming, and uncivilized practices that were already going out of style some 3769 years ago. —Barry Kort 11:27, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

WV:RFD#Evan Ratliff

"If he can suggest this here, why not on the page?" [1] The WV:RFD on Evan Ratliff was created by me with the encouragement of User:CQ for the purpose of engaging in a learning project on deletion in wikimedia projects. The excerpt below includes comments that I made to CQ in #wikiversity-en regarding the RFD.

mikeu	i really think that this activity in RFD could be a healthy exercise for the community
mikeu	debating the deletion of a page that was created for the purpose of learning about deletion could change the whole dynamic of the discussion
mikeu	i sometimes find the rfd to be illuminating, it is like taking the pulse of the community to hear their views on the scope and mission of wv
mikeu	sadly, it is not often a productive discourse
mikeu	perhaps this experiment can improve the climate for exchanging ideas

Your administrator status on English Wikiversity

Hello. A policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus in 2013. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.

You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on the wiki listed above. Since that wiki does not have its own rights review process, the global one applies.

If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights.

If you wish to resign your rights, you can reply here or request removal of your rights on Meta.

If there is no response at all after approximately one month, stewards will proceed to remove your administrator and/or bureaucrat rights. In ambiguous cases, stewards will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact the stewards. I don't foresee myself being able to participate in Wikiversity at the level required for an Administrator anymore, so am happy to resign those rights. User:Countrymike
