Welcome to Mock Course 101a!

Sat 12/19: Start class[edit | edit source]

Today each student will begin their journal, in class, using this one as a paradigm.

  • The purpose of this journal is for both student and instructor to track progress and effort. Keep your journal concise by using permalinks to your actual work (but for links to relevant material, use the regular "live" links.
  • Ordinarily we would have few days of instruction using w:Wikipedia:Wiki Ed, but since I am all three students, we don't need that here. I (Guy) will be building all the pages and subpages associated with this course, but the others (Moe, Larry, Curly) will be writing the policy and other pages.

Initial student assignments[edit | edit source]

  1. Guy V.  : Develop Dashboard (only the instructor ever touches the dashboard)
  2. Moe  : Template development. Create templates that guide students through the maze of this course.
  3. Larry  : Introducing students to Wikimedia editing, Begin with w:Wikipedia:Wiki Ed materials.
  4. Curley  : Student Journal, Sub-Log, and messages to the instructor.

Mon 12/20: Progress reports[edit | edit source]

  1. Guy V. : Modified the dashboard to remove the journal inside each user's userspace. Two journals per student created confusion. Let them keep their own journal if needed, and have them link to it out of their course log.
  2. Moe: Templates were completed, but placed in namespace by Guy vandegrift to reduce the footprint of the socks.
  3. Larry: Touched up Wikiversity:Education program
  4. Curley: At sock-Curley's request, instructorguy changed the names to of all course journals to logs in the Matlab software.
