iframe embeds of Wikiversity pages[edit source]

I am embedding some Wikiversity pages into a learning management system (Canvas) using iframe. This works fine, but includes the Wikiversity navigation bars etc. How can these be stripped out? Appending ?action=render to the embed URL allows the print version of the Wikiversity page to be embedded which is OK, but it loses the style. I found an implementation of what I'm looking for here: https://wiki.ubc.ca/Documentation:Embed_wiki_to_canvas_via_iframe which uses this extension: https://github.com/ubc/EmbedPage. How could something like this be achieved with Wikiversity? Sincerely, James -- Jtneill - Talk - c 13:28, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You could try using the Mobile view: https://en.m.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wikiversity:Main_Page . Does that help? Otherwise, it is possible to request an add-in, but someone has to "own" it and be responsible for maintenance. You might try asking at Phabricator: and see if anyone there has suggestions. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 16:45, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Dave Braunschweig. Following your suggestion, embedding the mobile version does do a reasonable job because it retains the styling and uses stripped down navigation bars. But a clean, styled embed of just the page content would be ideal. So, I followed your other suggestion and added a phabricator request: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T307462. -- Jtneill - Talk - c 14:00, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New competition on English Wikipedia and related SiteNotice request[edit source]

A popular article writing competition CEE Spring (about Central and Eastern Europe; now with special subcategory about Esperanto) is happening on the English Wikipedia until the 31st May 2022. I warmly invite you to participate, write some article and win a valuable prize! If you have question, I will happily answer it on the competition page talk.

Also, for more wide outreach, I have just asked for a CentralNotice, which should appear also in this project. If you have a comment on the request, you are welcome to write it on the request page. --KuboF Hromoslav (discusscontribs) 18:30, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
