While our board will definitely benefit from new editors in ecology area, I am uncertain with his open access experience. According to his Google Scholar profile, there was a hiatus between 2005 and 2011, and between 2011 and 2020. So I will use the recent publications since 2020 (9 according to Google Scholar). At a quick glance, I found two publications that were published in suspected predatory open access journals.[1][2] Many others papers do not have an open access link for me to verify the publisher's information. As the applicant did not provide additional information on their open access contribution and no other contributions on this wiki account, I can only make my evaluation based on the information presented. For this reason, my stance is Neutral leaning towards oppose. However, I think the applicant can contribute as a reviewer for future ecology and toxicology submissions. The applicant suggests that they will "prepare book to publish in Wiki journal of Science", but I don't believe we publish books, and our webpages clearly state that we publish articles, not books. This makes me concerned that the applicant has not engaged much with what we do. Despite the (expected) short length of the application, it has a few English mistakes. It would be great to have more geographic and cultural diversity in our editors, but editors need to know how to write/edit in professional English / how to use an AI tool to fix their English. Together with the points made by User:OhanaUnited, this leads me to Oppose. Aoholcombe (discusscontribs) 00:26, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Result: Withdrawn by applicant
