Reg. Hypothesis[edit source]

In addition to the 7 steps for generative modeling, is n't a good to have multiple hypothesis and run the same process for each one and see which gives a good result. Please clarify whether it is good to do or not. --Kandhasamy Rajasekaran (discusscontribs) 17:42, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Reg. finding closeness[edit source]

This is regarding the question

How to decide whether two numbers are close to each other ? My doubt is --- Can a simple subtraction not enough for finding the closeness and What advantages do we get by finding the significant digits ? --Kandhasamy Rajasekaran (discusscontribs) 17:49, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mistake in number distance comparison table?[edit source]

When comparing numbers by their significant digits (at 10:25 in the video) I do not agree with the table. To me, we just compare the digits of the number and count how often they match before they mismatch once. Thus the n for all lines, except those with a number of generated words like 122xxxx, should be 3. Why is n only for the 2nd to 5th row (the bold ones) 3? --92.73.114.213 (discuss) 10:16, 6 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

because we used the mathematical test for which maximal the equation would still hold --Renepick (discusscontribs) 16:02, 6 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
