What to do with orphaned subpages?
[edit source]I noticed that the author of subpages to this page has made a large number of short mathematical statements. My first reaction was to move them into subspace, but now don't know what to do. Let's discuss the issue here because places like the Colloquium tend to get cluttered up with other issues. The nice thing about focusing on these subpages is that on one hand, it can set a precedent for other pages like it. But on the other hand, doing something with this page does not oblige us to adopt this as a policy. In law they call this a test case (see Wikipedia:Test case (law)). - We would first need to understand what this is all about, and I am afraid it is far from self-explanatory. By checking e.g. Special:WhatLinksHere/MDLD/dimensional_(fgvs), I find the page transcluded e.g. in Mathematics for Applied Sciences (Osnabrück 2023-2024)/Part I/Lecture 24. It seems these pages are part of a system depending on transclusion to work; it seems like some kind of excessively modular/itemized system. At this point, I hesitate to pass judgment on its utility, e.g. MDLD/dimensional_(fgvs) is not useful on its own but rather as one small item that makes the larger system work. --Dan Polansky (discuss • contribs) 16:13, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Dan got the idea, I explain it also on the Colloquium.Bocardodarapti (discuss • contribs) 17:20, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
