# Talk:Calculus/Derivatives

The last limit in this page exist sometimes when the other two don't exist, thus it isn't equivalent. For example, for ${\displaystyle f(x)=|x|}$ at ${\displaystyle x=0}$ the last limit gives 0 while the others don't exist. --Shay Falador (talk) 12:05, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

The pages clearly cover the same topic, that is derivatives in calculus, to prevent divergence and confusion the two pages should be merged together, more specifically Derivatives should be merged into Calculus/Derivatives as the latter is organized while the former is not. —The Editor's Apprentice (TalkEdits) 01:07, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

## Under Definition

Under Definition there is the statement:

${\displaystyle f'(x)=\lim _{h\rightarrow x}{\frac {f(x)-f(h)}{h-x}}}$

Should this be:

${\displaystyle f'(x)=\lim _{h\rightarrow x}{\frac {f(x)-f(h)}{x-h}}}$ ??

I believe so, nice catch! —The Editor's Apprentice (TalkEdits) 18:56, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
