1897 July 2, The Hon. Evan Charteris attended the Duchess of Devonshire's fancy-dress ball at Devonshire House, as did Hugo Charteris, Lord Elcho and Mary Charteris, Lady Elcho.

c. 1900, Francis Richard Charteris, 10th Earl of Wemyss and Hon. Grace Blackburn married.[7]

Costume at the Duchess of Devonshire's 2 July 1897 Fancy-dress Ball[edit | edit source]

At the Duchess of Devonshire's fancy-dress ball The Hon. Evan Charteris (at 303) was dressed as Cavaliere Vittorio in the Venetians procession.[10][11]

Hugo Charteris, Lord Elcho (at 201) sat at Table 10. Mary Charteris, Lady Elcho (at 224), not listed in the first supper seating, was in the Oriental procession.[10][11]
