1874 September 26 – 1876 May 11, Albert Edward, Prince of Wales toured India, Malta, Brindisi (Italy) and Greece, accompanied by Owen Williams (as equerry and aide-de-camp), Arthur Ellis, Dighton Probyn, Charles Beresford, Charles Harbord, 5th Baron Suffield, Francis Knollys, William Howard Russell, Heneage Finch, 7th Earl of Aylesford, and Augustus FitzGeorge.[11]

  1. According to newspaper reports about Lady Hilda Finch, the daughters Hilda and Alexandra Finch of the 7th earl and Edith Peers-Williams Finch were brought up by the Dowager Countess Aylesford, which would be Jane Wightwick Knightley Finch, Countess Aylesford, who died in 1911.[13]
  2. The article on the Earl of Aylesford in Wikipedia and the record in The Peerage on Marcella Araminta Victoria Ross do not agree on her children with Captain John Wingfield Linton:
