Content summary
[edit | edit source]Dissent from the second Vatican council, particularly that which led to the rejection of the papacy of inter alia John Paul II, yet which supports no other public claimant to the Petrine see.
Goals
[edit | edit source]This learning project aims to help students:
- understand the key issues in the Catholic dissent from the second Vatican council, including the Society of St Pius X and the sedeprivationism of Michel Louis Guérard des Lauriers, OP, but focusing on sedevacantism.
- decide as to the veracity of sedevacantist claims
- explain their conclusions.
