Canterbury Tales

This is the portal to the study of the English language (its history and grammar) and English literature (books, their authors, and literary criticism). You are welcome to either learn or participate. English is the majority/official language in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. English literature began during the Middle Ages with books such as the Canterbury Tales and then has since expanded into many different genres.
