If this is the case just email me u3036698@uni.canberra.edu.au Olivia Poscoliero (discusscontribs) 09:38, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

chapter overlaps[edit source]

Hi nat, i'm doing the 'motivation and relationships' chapter. Just getting back to you on my topics...i've defined the scope of my research in the first section (This chapter will focus on mate selection for the heterosexual population with the majority of research centred around American and European studies). This is because there is a LOT of research just in this area, a lot of it is also very heavy with the scientific jargon! Also, i felt the 'sexual orientation' page covered what i'm not ;). Please, please feel free to cover anything you like and link back to mine, i'm going to link to the 'sexual orientation' page and yours. i'll also be sure to cover friendships, a lot of the theories of 'similarity' and Byrnes 'Law of Attraction' (1971) cover friendships. Why would be mate with/be friends with people we disagree with?!....maybe short term but research suggests long term its unsuccessfulU3049223 (discusscontribs) 11:50, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for research =[edit source]

Hi, I thought this article may be of interest Davis, D., Shaver, P. R., & Vernon, M. L. (2004). Attachment style and subjective motivations for sex. Personality & Social Psychology Bulletin, 30(8), 1076-1090. Link Here Peg93 (discusscontribs) 12:03, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on chapter plan[edit source]

  • Excellent-looking structure
  • Note that headings (by Wikiversity convention) should be in lower case (check)
  • I've added a few other suggested generic headings

celibacy[edit source]

Hello there! I realise you already have a lot of information to get through, but I thought in the section 'what turns us off' you could talk about celibacy? It's just a suggestion, i realise you could talk about so many things, but I found this article "What is a life without sex like?" and it's from the point of priests, which i thought was interesting. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/8644120.stm Hope I've helped, and good luck with the chapter! Heading casing[edit source]

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

u3054871's feedback[edit source]

Hey! The outline of your chapter looks great so far, perhaps the overview section would look better above the table of contents so that it is the first thing your readers get to read. And perhaps some pictures but I'm sure that's coming. Good luck!

Idea for your chapter :)[edit source]

Hi there, I was just wondering if you're going to talk about why sexual activity tends to reduce in long term relationships, or the couple are not interested in it as much as the beginning of the relationship, etc... I would be interested in reading about that. Your chapter should be good though, looking forward to reading it. :)Bilbo Baggins (discusscontribs)

Feedback[edit source]

Hey, just letting you know I've linked to your chapter from my chapter on oxytocin and emotion. Maybe not directly relevant but I thought it might be a nice addition because really, why not?

Looking very good so far. You've got pretty much everything covered. Only suggestion would be to include a few images, and maybe discuss views of sex in different cultures, such as pre-marital sex, although this might be a bit too unrelated to the whole idea of sexual motivation to fit into the word limit.

Good luck! Clarev (discusscontribs) 11:55, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

how to get more sex ? criticism[edit source]

Hey Nat,

I love your structures of the wiki page! It's very logical and good flow!

One thing that I have noticed is that - it may be good to mention in introduction why your chapter explores how to get more sex.

For example, why getting more sex is important in your life.

Additionally,

you can think about if there is any disadvantages of getting more sex.

Hope this helps!

I am sorry if you were going to put all the things I have mentioned!

Good luck on the rest of your wiki,

You can do it !!! :D

Wiki links[edit source]

Remember to add wiki links for key concepts e.g., Masters and Johnson. Sincerely, James -- Jtneill - Talk - c 12:29, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conclusion/tips[edit source]

The conclusion/tips look great - a practical, sensible, self-help tone is struck - well done -- Jtneill - Talk - c 22:37, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Overall[edit source]

Wow, well done with a controversial topic. This is a balanced, useful and applied chapter, great effort.

Theory[edit source]

The chapter covered a number of models explaining a higher and lower motivation towards sex – good job. There was some evidence of critical analysis with Freud’s model – for future improvement keep working on this skill.

Research[edit source]

The chapter clearly benefited from wide and relevant research, well done. There was some good evidence of integration with research and the models – good job. For future improvement, critical analysis is necessary

Written expression[edit source]

The chapter was generally well written, well done.

The learning features were good, the chapter had some good figures and “aside” text boxes. For future improvement, perhaps include aninteractive feature such as a quiz. The APA style was solid, Great jobCourtney.reis (discusscontribs)

Overall[edit source]

A very creative summary, well done!

Structure and content[edit source]

The presentation aimed to be creative, but with this the academic side of the presentation was let down. The interviewees did cover some of the content of the chapter, but for future improvement the academic content needs to be actively included

Communication[edit source]

The presentation was incredibly creative and very engaging, well done! I loved the use of the interviewees as “case studies”.

Production quality[edit source]

The quality of the presentation was sound, and it made good use of basic filming and powerpoint, well done. The audio quality was sound. Remember to include licensing information and references. Great effort! Courtney.reis (discusscontribs)
