Blood Circulation CBI Project Review

[edit source]

The challenge is appropriate and applicable at the freshman level. The students will definately be able to imangine themselves in this situation. My critique is primarily technical in nature.

Course Objectives

Comment 1: Switch primary and Sub objectives, the primary objectives should be more general and the sub objectives should be the supporting ideas. Comment 2: Maybe include some comparison with non mammalian organisms...May be too broad, just an idea. Comment 3: Under difficulties you may want to add what about basic circulatory system anatomy they will struggle with. I.e. vocab., flow of blood through the heart, which vessels carry oxigenated blood and which carry deoxigenated, function of valves, etc. My students always struggle with understanding the sequence of contractions (atria then ventricles) and how that relates to the the opening and closing of the valves and why. Coronary circulation may also be important here because they will need that to make their "diagnosis". Comment 4: Sorry out of time...taking CBI workshop.
