@Mfruecht: Appreciate how you notice the way in which Eumaeus goes above and beyond the norm of hospitality. I wonder if Odysseus is acting according to the norm by testing it in this way? Re: the two omens...could you say more about the context of each in the chapter? They seem to be happening at a key time, and with similar things happening.
