Move Subpages

[edit source]

{{Move|Television Engineering}} Subpages of the Topic are content and should be in the main / resource namespace rather than in the topic. I'm tagging this page with Move for now rather than editing the individual subpages. unsigned comment by User:Dave Braunschweig 2:52, 28 January 2014

mmm. I'd like to think about this a bit. This move might be correct, i.e, subpages could be moved to Television Engineering, but they were in mainspace and may relate to the topic better than to the actual engineering page. The IP user who created them only edited the topic and what I moved under the Topic and not the television engineering article. Those pages definitely didn't belong in top level mainspace. The user who pinged the IP did suggest moving them under Television Engineering. I'm not certain without more study.
I think this gets to the heart of what is a topic and what is content. I realize we're working on making up new definitions, but the current MediaWiki settings only include main space as content. Anything else should be things that organize content, link to content, support content, whatever. But at this point, by definition, they are not content. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 04:27, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
