I think this would be a great page to add unique, custom or simply unconventional methods of storing water within the rainwater harvesting system. However to restrict the types of storage, I think that it would be better if only storage container that met the following requirements were added here:

  • does not leak (at least in theory and generally in practice)
  • closed to the atmosphere, tanks and cisterns that comprise open-air or other kinds of storage are likely to fall more within a kind of stormwater management system, wherein run-off pollutants or sedimentation is more likely and easier to occur. Also the accumulation of macro and microorganisms seems evitable in this kind of system. Unless justification and evidence are given to the contrary or if such system are shown to behave reliably well for desired end-use, I don't they should be added here.
  • I think only man-made storage (even if it is natural and meets the requirements from above), should be added here. I think such information may be better for a separate page. (ie Rainwater Natural Storage Features or something along those lines).
